...The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders and FAU Owls meet Saturday in college basketball action at the FAU Arena.

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders look to stay hot while building on their six-game winning streak. The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders are averaging 74.2 points on 42.8 percent shooting and allowing 64.8 points on 43 percent shooting. JaCorey Williams is averaging 17.9 points and 7.2 rebounds while Reggie Upshaw is averaging 15.2 points and 3.1 assists. Giddy Potts is the third double-digit scorer and Edward Simpson is grabbing 2.2 rebounds. The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders are shooting 38 percent from beyond the arc and 66.3 percent from the free throw line. The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders are allowing 33.4 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 35.5 rebounds per game. The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders have won six of their last seven road games.

The FAU Owls could use a bounce back win after losing six of their last seven games. The FAU Owls are averaging 70.8 points on 41.9 percent shooting and allowing 71.7 points on 43.6 percent shooting. Adonis Filer is averaging 10.3 points and three rebounds while Nick Rutherford is averaging 10.2 points and 4.6 assists. Ronald Delph is grabbing 7.7 rebounds and Jailyn Ingram is dishing 1.3 assists. The FAU Owls are shooting 33.6 percent from beyond the arc and 69 percent from the free throw line. The FAU Owls are allowing 36.1 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 35.6 rebounds per game. The FAU Owls have lost five of their last seven home games.

The Blue Raiders are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games overall. The Owls are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games as an underdog and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as a home underdog. The Blue Raiders are 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Florida Atlantic.

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders have shown no problem winning on the road this season and FAU hasn't been the same team since beating Ohio State earlier in the year. In fact, the FAU Owls have been better on the road this season than at home. The Blue Raiders in a double digit win is a solid bet.....

FIU is threatening an upset over UAB. Up 5 with 6 minutes to go.

I'm surprised at our lopsided score. Figured it would be about like thursday's game. Good to see Giddy have a good first half.

FAU unable to overcome slow start in loss to Middle Tennessee

excerpt:

...Despite the Owls shooting 47 percent in the second half, FAU’s defense still struggled, allowing Middle Tennessee to shoot 62 percent from the field. The Blue Raiders finished the game shooting 56 percent from the field, including 8-for-20 from three.

“These guys are like robots,” said head coach Michael Curry of Middle Tennessee.“ .....

Interesting to note that before the two road games in Florida this week, Lunardi had MT as a 10 seed in the big dance.

Can only afford to drop one more regular season game if they expect to contend for an at-large bid...providing they don't win C-USAT of course.

We won't get an at-large bid. Our RPI has already peaked and the selection committee has screwed higher ranked teams before. The last two years, it's looked like they use the BPI more than RPI too.
