BASKETBALL Why only 3 games in 3 weeks?

Looks like MT, FAU, & WKU all get short end of stick with consecutive road games to finish up the year 03/02 & 03/04 just prior to the conference tourney.

It seems to me, whether it be men or women, they tend to be home or away for the Thursday/Saturday schedule.
If we have 12 or so schools in the current configuration, then by default 6 schools will be on the road each week. Otherwise who is the home team gonna play?
So unless I missed something, I don’t get how the 3 schools mentioned above got the short end of the stick?

This is the worst conference in the country. Can’t wait for NMST to join.

I had been reviewing the CUSA composite men's schedule. The last 2 regular season games in question dated 03/02 & 03/04 the MT men for example have to spend a number of days traveling to Texas for games against UTEP & UNT. Only to come back home for maybe 1 to 2 days max before traveling all the way back to Texas again for the tournament. Who knows maybe they'll just stay in Dallas after the regular season's over. What bothered me most was Rice, UTEP, UTSA, & UNT all get home games 03/02. And on 03/04 once again Rice, UTEP, & UNT get their 2nd consecutive home game prior to the Dallas CUSA tourney being in their back yard anyway. In essence zero travel prep time compared to rest of CUSA the week prior to tournament. UTSA is off so in essence no travel wear for them either.
To me it appeared all of the men's Texas schools were being coddled in preparation for the tournament. Comparing the Texas schools who have the tourney in their own state it looked to me the MT men due to back & forth travel time to various Texas locations over a 2 week span got somewhat a raw deal. But of course each person can draw their on conclusions & may feel differently.

What this analytic tells me is it doesn’t look promising for second NCAA bid for CUSA. It would have to be Florida Atlantic and tournament champion. This week, FAU is deep in RV category (6-AP) with loss to us, which means they need to win out until C-USA Championship and either lose to MT, UAB, or North Texas for reasonable hope. Not sure how damaging another loss to MT works in the “calculus”. Conference (and us) could stand to benefit with an additional NCAA tournament share with two teams. With this ranking, appears like a one bid league again (FAU-12, UAB/NT-13, MT/Charlotte probably 14, field no better than 15 seed—even possibly 16) in my view. Feel FAU would get an 10 if they totally run the table or 11 if they lose one more regular season and ultimately win the C-USA tournament.

I am expecting us to get 2 bids this year by default. Hope we win the tournament but I really think that UAB is the team to beat. Expect FAU to get a bid but get beat in the 2nd round of cusa tournament by a streaking bunch from middle Tenn!
