Why MT?
"I chose MTSU because I fell in love with the campusarea and the coaching staff. I love the way Coach West runs the defensive line."

On the coach who offered
Coach Royston was the one who offered me. I like Coach Royston because he was one of the first coaches to recruit me starting when I was in 10th grade. He went to the same high school that I go to, and we’ve built a great relationship over the past couple of years.

So far Eastern and GA Southern those years. So still a Power $ and hopefully an FCS.

Unless the conference chooses to go round robin and we drop to 3 out of conference games. That would require '25 being adjusted though as we already have 4 that year.

I was very thrilled when Coach offered me. I was not expecting it.


On the coach and what he likes:

Coach Tucker offered me. I like how he has a plan for me and seess me being a game changer.

What do you play in HS and what do you intend to play in college?

In HS I play safety, slot receiver, and running back. In college I plan to play either safety or slot.

Three most memorable plays you have made?

1. Returning a 99 yard kickoff and taking a blocked field goal 90 yards back for a touchdown in the same game.

2- Scoring a touchdown with no time left on the clock to take my team to overtime

3- Catching my first pass reception last year for a 80 yard touchdown


He says the schools recruiting him the hardest are Troy, Mizzou and Coastal Carolina

Enjoyed Sam Doughton's in depth interview with CNM on this year's upcoming team. Discussed numerous topics from new players getting acclimated to scheduling, etc. Coach seemed very pleased with the team camaraderie that's already developing. You can sense his enthusiasm for what he thinks will be an excellent mix of returning & new players already meshing & creating friendships.
I liked how Coach discussed the "new life" that this team already has to it, you can tell he's liking the team new team make up.

I will not start this discussion as a means of belittling Memphis. I rather point out the hypocrisy of the NCAA. Penny got suspended because he had a recruiting visit with a high school junior at home instead of on his campus. Yet the NCAA has allowed itself to totally decimate high school recruiting of athletes via the transfer portal & NIL recently. In comparing what the NCAA now approves as ok versus the supposed horrors of a coach visiting a player at home or campus is it that big a deal?? If the NCAA is OK with NIL packages worth hundred of thousands they might as well drop some of these stupid regulations just so they can justify having a job.
If this had happened at Duke or UNC would said suspension happened to one of their coaches?

When i think of next year i just dont see anything positive. Any hope? We are years away from a championship.

Basketball is our only hope next year. At least we have some pieces there. Frustrated and becoming apathetic.
