FOOTBALL MT to play Syracuse in 2017

MT FB will play Syracusa on Sept 9, 2017 next year. The non-conference slate will also include Vanderbilt, Minnesota and Bowling Green to complete the non-conference slate

MT OOC Schedule

• 09/02 - Vanderbilt
• 09/09 - at Syracuse
• 09/16 - at Minnesota
• 09/23 - Bowling Green

3 power conference schools on the OOC schedule next year.

...The Blue Raiders will play at Syracuse Sept. 9 along with Vanderbilt (Sept. 2) at home, at Minnesota (Sept. 16) and host Bowling Green (Sept. 23), according to a release.

MTSU will receive a $950,000 payout from Syracuse when they travel to play them at the Carrier Dome. Minnesota will pay the Blue Raiders between $300,000 and $350,000 as part of a back-end home and home deal.....

I like the idea of NO fcs program on the schedule for once...

I am not so hot on all the non conference games to start out the season. Would have rather seen them broke up among the other games. Yes they are winnable games and hopefully we could go 3-1 or 4-0, but given recent history, how likely is that. I would hate the idea of a 1-3 start, or worse, to the season.

Hopefully we are building towards a great season in 2017.
