FOOTBALL Bowl Predictions

We most likely will back in to a bowl. I'm laying money if we do, it will either be off mainland or too far for the average fan to go to.

Figured I'd start a thread and post each week the predictions. Have one place to see at end of season how far off these well paid pundits are. Plus in my mind, this season without a bowl WIN means squat. Miami won't matter, no conf champ always matters, but we've never won two bowls in a row. Many may not care about football, but I still do, so here I am.

What else can we do to grow exposure..

So I've been thinking for a while and against my better judgement and most likely ridicule, I'm throwing this out there.

With the new media deal we have a chance as a conference to think outside the box. Yes I know Judy's track record. But maybe someone will see all this and tell someone and it create a spark somewhere.

First off, IGNORE THE SPECIFIC SCHOOLS. I simply grabbed them based on name recognition and rumors online of potential schools. I just needed 16 to make 4x4 pods.

So imagine the below.
* 7 scheduled conference games
* each division plays another, rotating
* for 8th game, the leaders of two divisions play another. #1 v #1, #2 v #2, etc.
* winners of #1 v #1 play conference champ game
* in other words create our own mini playoff

Example
* MT is in East with WKU, LU, KSU. Play them then one division, say South.
* since reg season had E/S & N/W, 8th game would be East 1 v North 1 and West 1 v South 1
* regular divisions and 8th game opponents would rotate
* so say MT leads E, SDSU leads N, FIU leads S, UTEP leads W.
* so MT v SDSU and UTEP v FIU. Winners play each other for championship

You could make it a weekend. 8th games on Thursday, champ Sat. Or throw basketball games in with it with another conference. Make it an event that could be marketed and is unique. Pods can work for other sports as well and help with travel too.

We are here for a while in CUSA, so let's make the most of it and figure ways to maximize exposure for the league, in turn us.

Maybe I'm an idiot. Maybe I'm a genius.

BASKETBALL Middle Tennessee vs Belmont

Just watched the Belmont vs Louisville game on ESPN PLUS. Both future MT opponents. Will not relay score for those wanting to watch a replay. In advance, this was an excellent game between 2 outstanding teams. Lady Raiders will have hands full with Belmont Wed night. Keep an eye on their guards Wells, Jones, & Harvey. They are players. Louisville is ranked #7 & has big time talent. They had fits with Wells & Jones all night. Look forward to their matchup with Wheeler, Blakely, & Gregory. Should be tremendous game

Q & A for Lee De Leon

It's time for another Q&A with Lee De Leon.

My guess is that many of you may have questions about the state of the football program & Stockstill's fate / retirement / resignation / termination. I do too.

However, I don't see the Q&A as the venue to ask these questions. Whatever Lee's opinion, his job is to push MT. For better or worse, he has to "tote the company line" (i.e. "Stock is our HC"). His job is to engage the fans but he can't go against the boss. And every single member of the GoMiddle community that has a boss knows that, as an employee, our job is to execute the plan for our boss.

So fire away on your questions for Lee. But don't ask about Stock. 😂
