Can MT steal a couple games in the CUSA Tournament? What are your thoughts as the regular season starts to wind down?

The College Football Playoff board of managers unanimously approved a model that will guarantee the five highest-ranked conference champions' inclusion in the expanded 12-team field this fall, along with the next seven highest-ranked teams, the CFP announced Tuesday.


Not exactly sure how this impacts the G5. At first glance, doesn't seem too bad if it stays this way. The problems for schools like us going forward, in my opinion, will be NIL dollars and the transfer portal essentially turning us into a glorified JUCO. This is especially problematic for schools like us that are perennially broke and struggle to pay for things as is, much less additional $$$ for the players.

UTEP hosts Middle Tennessee after snapping a 3 game losing streak with a much needed home victory over WKU 73-68. Middle Tennessee comes in to Saturday's game off of an impressive 73-37 road victory over NMSU. The Lady Raiders used that victory for an impressive 5 team jump in the latest NET Rankings. MT saw its placement jump from #42 nationally to its highest seasonal ranking of #37. The Lady Raiders look to avenge a disappointing loss in El Paso last year. The Raiders are riding a 10 game winning streak behind impressive play & leadership from point guard Savannah Wheeler.

The Lady Raiders travel to Las Cruces for game 1 of a 2 game road trip out West. The ladies are riding a 9 game winning streak, & a 2 game lead over 2nd place FIU. The Raiders go into Thursday night's game confidently playing their best ball of the year.
NMSU will be playing with some renewed momentum coming off a 65-59 home win over the UTEP Lady Miners.
Savannah Wheeler has continued her excellent play after being named CUSA Player of the Week for the 3rd time this year with a 31 point effort against FIU.
The Raiders will need to continue their great play as they look to push their NET Rankings beyond their #40 current ranking.

Friday night, February 16th, at 5 pm, MT hosts Northwestern from the BIG at the Adams Tennis Center. Last year MT won a hard fought battle at their place 4-3.
3 doubles matches begin at 5, followed by 6 singles matches. That usually begin by 5:40 or so.
Local brewery Cedar Glade has a setup on the 2nd floor. I have made arrangements to have an open tab. You simply need to tell them to put your beer on :

We hope to be there a little before 5. How long they stay open is dependent upon how busy they are.
