Alabama swept their opponent this weekend, Manhattan College, 4-0, 15-0, and 11-8.
Alabama was a preseason #19, and 43-21 in 2023

Thought the team played pretty well outside of two costly errors and the back-to-back solo shots that Sells gave up in the 8th.
Outside of that, a couple freshman saw action out the pen and looked good and only thing really given up was the 2 run bomb in the 3rd. Sato was HUGE in relief as well.
Still have to clean the concentration errors up defensively and will have to bring those runs in conference play but this is the best out of conference team they will play (outside of Vandy) and they made it competitive.
Chandler Alderman could be another freshman to watch this year too as he looked really good out of the pen is 1 and two-thirds

They were solid. No big hits tho outside of Trace Phillips’ RBI. The final out was a fly out by Briggs Rutter was as close to a homer as you can be. But other than that nothing really. They found ways to get on base though but never cashed in beside that one time. That freshman pitcher Bama brought in was filthy and shut down the lineup in the middle innings.
Well Vandy has had a rough start to the year, now dropping tonight’s game to Dayton 8-5 after giving up a 7 run 8th inning
