Think that will have to change this year or you will have internal issues with players. Our 2nd 5 would be good enough to win our conference most years. With all the new faces, it may take this group a little longer to jell but if they can get them to come together as a team, watch out!
I agree about more flexibility on a 13 player roster. And another thing to improve upon, stop talking Final Four! We've lost something like 10 straight opening round tournament games. Dr McPhee was just over for a visit with the ladies (see MT women's bball twitter), & much of what he was talking about was wanting a Final Four ring next year. He & Rick need to lay off the pressure of this kind of talk. At this stage I would just like a competitive 1st round game instead of getting blown out in the round of 64 again.
This program already has a big monkey on its back because of the consecutive ncaa losses under coach now. Coaches & administration talking Final Four like its an easy walk in the park are not helping. Better to be humble & just act glad to participate in any tournament without putting added mental pressure on the players. Let them take it one game at a time!
Even coaches who make it to the Sweet 16 know it's foolish to start talking Final Four before getting to the Elite Eight. That is except for our coaches & administration at MT.
