I'm starting to wonder if the repercussions of stocks coaching and recruiting combined with a few years of the transfer portal are starting to become fully realized?
My position coach in college pulled me aside in the locker room one day in the Spring of my Freshman year after a really brutal cussing he gave me during a scrimmage when I allowed our OC to slip in a backside post route shot behind me. He told me, “I’m your coach, not your friend. Your teammates are your friends. In four years we can be friends. But know this, right now, when I stop cussing and yelling, you know I’ve stopped caring.” I started for him the next 3 years and to this day we are friends. Here’s a question no one has asked. If players love Stockstill so much then why is he having so many leave who were already starters here?
Having a “liked” coach is not the marker for success. Players want a chance to win something. Win games, win championships. That might have something to do with with why we lose so much in the portal and are not getting much in return. Good players see when there is either not enough talent around them or development taking place.
No, they thought the fanbase and media were idiots to believe the way they “sold” the extra three years for $300,000 “cost of attendance” he that hadn’t even earned yet.I haven't listened to sports talk radio in years
Tuned into the zone today and Rick was the topic of conversation.
To sum it up with Blane and whoever was on there: Stock is a good guy. Everybody likes him. But people want wins...and they mentioned empty stadiums and losses are gonna apply pressure real quick.
Then they started talking about Rick's contract. Blain: "Rick isn't going anywhere with a 4 mil buyout after this season...hats off to his agent". haha
I swear McPhee and Massarro are idiots to have let this happen.
They aren't idiots, they just don't have any integrity.I swear McPhee and Massarro are idiots to have let this happen.
Is this true? Then they started talking about Rick's contract. Blain: "Rick isn't going anywhere with a 4 mil buyout after this season...hats off to his agent". haha
Is this true?
I thought it dropped after this year?

Game Notes, depth chart page 11, not sure if there's much difference if any between this one and last week
According to Jeff Sagarin’s ratings, we are now #132. The problem with that, there are only 131 FBS schools and he has 14 FCS schools ahead of us.
If you are an eternal optimist (not many around here at this point), the positive spin would be that we are ahead of 4 CUSA schools. How crappy is CUSA to have 1/2 it’s conference rated mathematically below the actual number of FBS teams?
CUSA is really bad.
It’s the sole reason we made it to a bowl game last year.
Not counting Monmouth. We went to a bowl with a 5-6 FBS record.
good lord did we back into that.
season records of wins
Marshall 7-6
UConn 1-11
Southern Miss 3-9
FIU 1-11
FAU 5-7
bowl
Toledo 7-6
24-50
“The Battle In The FBS Basement” this week. Oughta be a thriller. 😂😂
Funny you say that. We could get 5 wins this year by beating teams rated currently worse than 100. Throw in FAU at #98 and Rick has 6 wins and is New Mexico Bowl bound!!!
7-wood is either unconcerned about a successful football program OR does not want a successful football program. How has no one lost a job after all these years?!?!?!?
Arriving for their date with history. The big 100.
I think it will have a huge impact. Hope we have oxygen on the sideline.I wonder how that 5,000 ft elevation will impact our team? Could led to serious sucking air in the 4th quarter.
