FOOTBALL Middle Tennessee at Colorado State 3 pm, Saturday, September 10, 2022

Just saw that TSU put up 547 yards on Eastern Washington, who was ranked in FCS.

Dobson had 132 yards with 5 receptions. He's gonna want revenge.

I'm starting to wonder if the repercussions of stocks coaching and recruiting combined with a few years of the transfer portal are starting to become fully realized?

Here’s a question no one has asked. If players love Stockstill so much then why is he having so many leave who were already starters here?

Having a “liked” coach is not the marker for success. Players want a chance to win something. Win games, win championships. That might have something to do with with why we lose so much in the portal and are not getting much in return. Good players see when there is either not enough talent around them or development taking place.

My position coach in college pulled me aside in the locker room one day in the Spring of my Freshman year after a really brutal cussing he gave me during a scrimmage when I allowed our OC to slip in a backside post route shot behind me. He told me, “I’m your coach, not your friend. Your teammates are your friends. In four years we can be friends. But know this, right now, when I stop cussing and yelling, you know I’ve stopped caring.” I started for him the next 3 years and to this day we are friends.

Another funny angle to this story. Same coach of mine went on to coach DB’s at Clemson for Danny Ford after leaving Memphis St. He invited us over to stay with him and his wife and attend the S.Carolina @ Clemson game in ‘84, Fridge’s last college game. The game did not end well for Clemson but, after the game in their recruiting area, he introduced me for the first time to a young assistant on their staff who was their LB’s coach. That same young coach is now Stock’s D-Line coach. 😂😂😂

I haven't listened to sports talk radio in years

Tuned into the zone today and Rick was the topic of conversation.

To sum it up with Blane and whoever was on there: Stock is a good guy. Everybody likes him. But people want wins...and they mentioned empty stadiums and losses are gonna apply pressure real quick.

Then they started talking about Rick's contract. Blain: "Rick isn't going anywhere with a 4 mil buyout after this season...hats off to his agent". haha

I swear McPhee and Massarro are idiots to have let this happen.

Honestly thought...it needs to be real uncomforable in the stadium for this staff. Signs....whatever.

I could see someone getting escorted out even with a tasteful "it is time to go Rick..." sign.

No, they thought the fanbase and media were idiots to believe the way they “sold” the extra three years for $300,000 “cost of attendance” he that hadn’t even earned yet.

I honestly don't know. MT01 has clarified on the autorenewal in other threads but this came from one of Blaines cohosts or producers producers while they were discussing it.....

Honestly, before a caller called in and gave Rick's win % and bowl % and attendence issue....they were kinda just letting it slide on Rick. So kudos to whoever called in....

we are so little middle. no expectations even from local personalities on the media.

Is this true?

I thought it dropped after this year?

I think for the StockTract we learned it lasts 3 years after this season, possibly more but a Freedom Of Information form is needed to get that information. At least I thought thats where we are at for this.

Ft Collins is experiencing record level type heat, but thankfully a "cool front is forecast to enter Friday, with a forecast high of a more seasonal 80 degrees and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms for Fort Collins. The low will reach 49 degrees, according to the weather service."

Saturday will be even cooler, with a high near 67 degrees and slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. The low will sink to 46 degrees."

Game Notes, depth chart page 11, not sure if there's much difference if any between this one and last week

What the hell is going on with Jaylin Lane? Can we get some clarity on the injury and expectations for him to return?

Stockstill treats first 4 weeks of the season as pre-season anyway, right ?

According to Jeff Sagarin’s ratings, we are now #132. The problem with that, there are only 131 FBS schools and he has 14 FCS schools ahead of us.

If you are an eternal optimist (not many around here at this point), the positive spin would be that we are ahead of 4 CUSA schools. How crappy is CUSA to have 1/2 it’s conference rated mathematically below the actual number of FBS teams?

CUSA is really bad.
It’s the sole reason we made it to a bowl game last year.

Not counting Monmouth. We went to a bowl with a 5-6 FBS record.

good lord did we back into that.

season records of wins
Marshall 7-6
UConn 1-11
Southern Miss 3-9
FIU 1-11
FAU 5-7

bowl
Toledo 7-6

24-50

Funny you say that. We could get 5 wins this year by beating teams rated currently worse than 100. Throw in FAU at #98 and Rick has 6 wins and is New Mexico Bowl bound!!!

We're gonna be all up in the bottom 25 all year long but I think CSU is not nearly as compentent as JMU is. No way in hell we win it of course but it will be interesting to watch.

we drop this to a team that was 3-9 last year, the argument that we made it to a bowl and won is moot.

glad we are finding motivation after a wallop … hopefully it pushes us to a w but why be motivated on week two.

I don’t think motivation is the problem here.

I'm more interested in MT fall softball than football. I've got so many good fall memories of MT FB, and it's a downer knowing the optimistic football times are behind us with ZERO chance of hope on the horizon. I wonder how many on the fan engagement committee resigned after last week? It was bad enough before last week, but now more than before, what fans are you actually going to engage? How has no one lost a job after all these years?!?!?!?
