Hope folks are planning to go up to the game. This is our closest away game since 2019. Would be amazing to have a huge showing of blue in the stands especially after the way the team played at Houston. Belmont has played a very difficult schedule this year, similar to us, and they lost by 11 to Missouri, 1 to #21 Mississippi State, and 19 to #3 Stanford. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7.50 for kids.

Any word on how Boldyreva's knee is feeling after the hyper-extension, & if she's going to be able to play Sunday?

No updates that I've seen. But she just had her knee wrapped in some post-game pics I saw from the airport and didn't seem to be having issues walking or running. We shall see. Maybe more limited time

Have to admit I was stunned by the conditioning our ladies showed at Houston. If not for Boldyreva's injury all 5 would have likely played 40 minutes.
Rick said post game he planned on playing Sifa, but was concerned it would have thrown off momentum. As much as I have been against his short bench play I do get it in this situation. The overall play was excellent & really never let up.
Tip of the hat to Iullia, she got a bucket in the last 5 minutes & fit in just fine without altering the team's momentum.
No predictions about the Belmont game other than they have played a heck of a schedule, & are a battle tested team. Should be a very competitive game. At least I feel better that our strength & conditioning coach has our players in the best shape of their lives for extended minutes on the court.

I agree. Coach Tess has done amazing job getting the team in this shape

Only 4 posts, but +3,000 viewings about the Belmont game. What the heck is going on with the interest on this game compared to others so far? Belmont fans tapping in to see what we think?

I think maybe a benefit of traffic to the site overall, with the attention to the football coaching change, and that being a distraction to MT fans overall.

I promise, my reply is NOT directed to you, you simply raised the question.
For the life of me, I have never understood why people want their teams coaching staff to release injury information on any of their players? Besides the obvious privacy concerns, why give your future opponents coaching staffs intel on who might, or might not play?
Almost certain the professional leagues have pretty strict guidelines on providing injury updates throughout the week.
To my knowledge, and someone correct me if I am wrong, at the collegiate level there are no such guidelines.
I just fail to understand why you want to volunteer any information to your opponent which would help them adapt their game planning and strategy.
Better to keep them totally in the dark if you can.
Just my opinion.

Big game in an hour and a half. Looking forward to seeing the crowd in blue cheering on the ladies this afternoon.

You make a good point. For CRI on this point he's about as tight lipped as any coach I've seen regarding player health. For example I don't think there was ever an official release about Jada Harrison this year. Which is coach's every right. Some are more free than others on this. Think it was from this board we heard about her injury. To this day still don't know the essence of her injury or how long she'll be out. All we know is to wish her the best in her recovery.
There definitely is a lot of difference between the pro's & the college's when it comes to info release concerning player injury status.
No offense taken at all.

Good points! Especially when it comes to students, respecting privacy is important.

Not ready to play today. Just totally wild shots on offense and going under screens on 3 point shooters left and right... you'd think they would STOP DOING THAT after the first time they hit a 3 off that play.

LMAO. Gregory dribbles it off her foot, grabs it back, then shot an airball a foot short of the basket. Good lord. Please, please put someone else in the game if she's having an off game...

Not running the offense at all. Grabovskaia was wide open like 5 times on the last possession and they never threw it in the paint ONCE. That's the opposite of how the offense is supposed to work and, if you see this happening as a coach, that is when you call a timeout.

At least Insell is using bench today... but you need to stop this and adjust like not going under screens every single time you're on defense. Come on, it's not rocket science.

Gregory, man... really hope she can get this season back on track. She is our worst 3 point shooter and tied for the most turnovers all year.

It is absolutely baffling how Whitson has lost her player on so many of our defensive sequences. Way too much help defense is leaving their shooters wide open.

Absolutely stomped by Belmont today so far, no way around it. Clearly not ready to play. We went from one of our best games of the year against Houston to our worst in this one.

It might help if MT sports information waited to publish a feature article on a player until MT has home game or two in front of them.

Boldyreva and Ineza the only players shooting the ball decently today. Scott doing ok especially from 3...

Gregory fouls out going 2-7 and 1-4 from 3
Wheeler 3-13 and 0-3 from 3
Whitson 1-5 on a putback and 0-3 from 3

Absolutely zero positive adjustments in this game. They've shot 70% from three, hitting 12 so far. And we're playing defenses that promote 3 point shots.
