Her wording makes it seem like he said something he really did not.

He actually said that a President should be impeached instead of charged in criminal court. Kavanaugh’s quote was, “no single prosecutor, judge or jury should be able to accomplish what the Constitution assigns to the Congress.”

According to the Constitution, the President can be impeached for specific things or “other high crimes and misdemeanors.”

So basically, if the President breaks the law, Kavanaugh thinks the President should be impeached per the constitution instead of charged in federal court. And his other quotes indicate that if impeachment doesn’t occur during office, then the President could be charged in court after he can’t be impeached.

I see no problem with this and it fits the Constitution. If a President commits a crime, impeach them. Once they have been impeached or after they are out of office, indict him/her.

I give you 80% correct in your statement but I still don't like some of the wording and I hope liberals block his nomination since Conservatives refused to affirm Obama's choices.

I think Merrick Garland should have had hearings and if he was qualified, he should have been confirmed.

Just like Gorsuch and Kavanaugh, if qualified they should be confirmed regardless of the nominating President.

Not all conservatives agree with Mitch’s politics or like Trump.

The vast majority that I've interacted with on the internet are though. Fox News, etc has polarized the nation. Most liberal news is not super left, but Fox et al have convinced a lot of people that they are. Are they balanced? No, but to hear the conservative pundits tell it they are communists, when in fact they are not. Modern European "socialism" in no way resembles Marxism. Sorry, but it's the truth.

I think you are what you eat. I think the news and social media has driven the divide larger in both directions. Media feeds what viewers already believe and the news most people watch is now just a confirmation bias. The gap is wider now because of the angry fringe on both sides.

I don’t let pundits shape my views on the world or opinion on liberals, libertarians, conservatives or independents. I don’t think most people are in the one size fits all label on all issues.

It seems to be more of issue with right wing media, though it does happen to both sides. Look at taxes. The average American pays about 30% for all taxes (It's actually closer to 25%, but I'm trying to give some leeway here), that includes hidden taxes as well, yet to hear most conservative media, we are way over taxed. That's bull. We are not over taxed. We aren't taxed nearly as much as most other countries that are similar to us... Not even close.

Arguing whether we are over or under taxed....I would say "it depends".

I don't think you can use the tax rates in other countries for comparison because their constitutional authorities are different than ours. The constitution spells out what authorities the Federal govt. has and defers everything else to states. The federal govt. should not be involved in programs that were not specifically given to in the constitution. So the federal govt. should not be taxing at a rate that takes in more money than necessary for those programs. Whatever the break even tax rate is what we should be taxed at for the federal level. If we cut the programs at the federal level that are not really constitutional, then the federal tax rate would be adjusted to whatever level it is needed. Then the states would need to step up as outlined in the constitution and implement programs as desired by the constitutes and tax at the state level to fund those programs.

People will always complain about taxes no matter the rate.
