One lucky program is about to get the ultimate dual-threat quarterback in Earl Woods. Coming out of Alabama’s Hueytown High School, Woods was a one-man show last season passing for over 3,000 yards while rushing for 2,100-plus lighting up the score board with 54 total touchdowns. With a commitment date coming on Oct. 1, the 2023 three-star talent is down to four programs.
Woods broke down his likes in his four contenders.
Jacksonville State: “I really liked my visit to Jacksonville State. I like all their coaches and I vibe great with coach (Rod) Smith (OC). They have a few of my old teammates there. I’m excited to see the upgrades they are making around campus.”
Grambling State: “I love coach (Hue) Jackson and what they are building at a HBCU. They are making it fun to play, and they love what I can bring to the program.”
Middle Tennessee: “I like the vibe and how they let their QBs make plays.”
North Alabama: “I love the atmosphere and the love the coaching staff has for their players, especially from their offensive coordinator, coach (Ryan) Held. Coach Held is okay with me being me.”
