That's a publisher that I can't recall has ever shown Middle Tennessee any kind of respect, much less this kind of thing...

The owner of Athlon is a VU grad if memory serves, I've always assumed he just didn't want admit MT existed. In The Belt days the conference wasn't wasn't even included in the SE edition of the mag, again IIRC.

The only thing I can think is since MT is a Vandy opponent, they want to build up their strength of schedule to their fans.
