11-28-86: In Cincinnati, OH, the Lady Raiders opened the season by beating Northern Kentucky 70-69 in the 1st round of the Communiplex Classic. With MT leading 68-67, Alice Lawrence hit 2 free throws in closing seconds to ice the game. Kim Webb led MT with 25 points.
11-29-86: In Cincinnati, OH, the Lady Raiders (2-0) won the Communiplex Classic with a 69-56 win over Wisconsin. MT trailed 25-24 at halftime but outscored the Lady Badgers 34-12 in the 1st ten minutes of the 2nd half. Kay Willbanks led MT with 17 points and Alice Lawrence was named the tournament MVP.
