Tax Reformists Praise Cruz Tax Plan

Ted Cruz is riding high after last week's Republican presidential debate where he unveiled a "simple flat tax" to fix the nation's economy.
The Texas Senator is proposing a 10-percent flat tax that promises to grow the U.S. economy by 14 percent over the next decade, and its getting high praise from tax reformists.
“This will create jobs, opportunities and new business,” says Grover Norquist with Americans for Tax Reform. “It gets rid of the death tax, it gets rid of the alternative minimum tax, it gets rid of the Obamacare tax, and it begins to make us competitive internationally.”
Of the GOP candidates, Norquist says Cruz so far has offered the most sensible tax plan.
“They all of plans that move in the same direction that Cruz's does, but Cruz's is tougher and stronger,” he says.
Cruz's ultimate goal is to replace the federal income tax with a national sales tax, or Fair Tax.
“It explains the differences between Republican, all of whom are cutting taxes, and the Democratic candidates, all of whom plan to raise taxes,” says Norquist.
