Saban wants Bama playing 10 Power 5 games each season

"I've always said, 'Let's play all Power 5 games,'" Saban told ESPN on Friday. "I was in the NFL where we played all the games against NFL teams. But let's play at least 10 Power 5 games. It would be better for the players, better for the fans, and I think you wouldn't have to worry that if you lost a game that you wouldn't have as much of a chance to still be in [the College Football Playoff]. They talk about strength of schedule now, but how do you really evaluate that?"

With growing concern about declining college football attendance numbers, Saban said it's time the sport starts thinking more about the fans.

He's the only one saying it. Because if that happens, G5 and FCS would boycott P5 in everything. Let's see if Vandy ever makes the post season in anything ever again. It would cripple college sports which is why Sagan is saying it and no one else really is. There are many P5 teams that would be done if this ever happened including at least 2 on our schedule this year and 3 next year. VT went to a bowl game thanks to Marshall. Duke is winning thanks in large part due to G5 and FCS teams. You have maybe 10 teams that could survive that type of schedule. All of the others would crumble. 6-6 at best. The bottom P5's would be buried. Basketball would be destroyed for P5's because G5's don't really need them but P5's need the hell out of P5's and FCS BB teams just to get to post season. Good luck to Saban. He's in a bubble and other coaches are cracking the code now.

Vandy went 6-6 last year because of us, Nevada and TSU. Without G5, they are going 3-9. VU has UGA for the first game this year. Welcome to that Saban P5 life. They are getting curb stomped for that first game and they would for the whole season under Saban's mindset. No stupid cowboy dance for Mason. What a Jackass.

it does, but the demand for that guaranteed win is going to go up, as with guarantees for G5/P5 games

‘Bama’s schedule has always been screwy.

They always have a FCS or low low G5 in the middle of the season. Every other ranked school has those out of the way and is playing meaningful games and Bama is sitting there staying ranked number two after winning 76-3.

That needs changed to me.

Hes only saying that because everyone knows his OOC is absolute crap. If he really believed that he would not be playing Western Carolina, Southern Miss, and New Mexico State this year. Their "big" OOC game is Duke....he's full of Sh*t.

JT is right. P5 needs us because if not the vast majority of P5 schools wouldnt win 3-4 games. College football would be relegated to 20-30 teams and it would completely ruin the sport.

Just makes me root for Southern Miss all the more this year.
