It's a badly kept secret that the Left wants the minds and hearts of the nation's children. The younger the Left can get to them, the more time they have to indoctrinate (brainwash) them with the progressive mindset. Though this ideology and practice are politically beneficial to the Left, it's utterly destructive to the individual victims and the culture it devours. Which is why I suspect so many parents stridently object to the curriculum associated with Common Core.

Case in point.

Truth Revolt[/B]

An 8th-grade Wisconsin student received an "A" from his social studies teacher for answers to a politically charged classroom assignment that suggested Republicans are destroying the "pathway to citizenship" for immigrants.[/B]

"Social studies."

Teacher Gracie Davis gave her students a handout that included an editorial cartoon titled "The Pathway to Citizenship" from the Chattanooga Times Free Press showing two brick layers paving a walkway - one with dark skin wearing a Democrat donkey logo, the other man, white, wearing a Republican elephant logo. While the implied immigrant is securing his bricks to the ground, the white Republican is removing the bricks and tossing them over his shoulder.[/B]

Davis instructed her students to use the cartoon to answer these questions:[/B]

Who are the men in the picture (What is their job? Look at what they are doing for a hint.[/B]
What are they building?[/B]
What do the symbols on their shirts represent?[/B]
What is action being done by each man?[/B]
What might this mean to us about immigration and citizenship?[/B]
The student was able to answer the questions to Davis's satisfaction. His answers to the last two were, "The Democrat is building, the Republican is destroying" and "Democrats want immigrants to come in and Republicans don't."

[/I][/B]

The student brought home the assignment to show his father who checked to see if perhaps the opposing view was offered. He discovered, "[T]here's nothing, just one side of paper.[/I]" Because his son was awarded five out of five points, the father said, "[A]pparently those answers that he gave were the ones she was looking for," and added, "Wow, it definitely looks like she wanted a certain answer."[/B]

Of course it's just a one-sided piece of paper- Leftists only give one-sided arguments- intellectually empty ones at that. Moreover, this "teacher" didn't just want "a certain answer," she wanted this man's son to be indoctrinated[/I] with a "certain answer"- a "certain" mentality, irrespective to any truth or countering perspectives.

The father confronted Davis over the assignment who revealed that she only wanted to expose her students to a different viewpoint. But when the man said it doesn't sound like she's offering the other view, Davis told him, "Well, the semester's not over."[/B]

That's it? "The semester's not over" is the best Davis could do? What a pathetic defense of this inexcusable attempt to propagandize this man's son. And she had the chutzpah to tell him to his face?
Amazing.

The school district's communications director Jim Strick chimed in- defending Davis and giving his pathetic justification for her assignment, claiming it wasn't intended to politically persuade the children's views.

It was basically a skill-building unit for reading and understanding a political cartoon. It was basically the simplest cartoon that [Davis] could find for an eighth-grade level as far as understanding the concept of a political cartoon.[/B]

"Skill building." Rubbish. Pure[/I] rubbish.

Jim Strick insults the intelligence of everyone in ear or eye shot of this dishonest statement.

This is simply a small insight into what children are learning in school. To young, developing minds who pay very little attention to politics- if any, this is damaging to their intellectual and moral development. Aside from the obvious, the false claim that "Democrats want immigrants to come in and Republicans don't" is disingenuous from the teacher's standpoint. Further, the claim lacks any of the necessary nuance, critical thinking, and respect for the complexity that a serious policy discussion regarding immigration warrants- which is years and years ahead of what most eight graders are able to handle and understand.

Quite frankly, it's years and years ahead of what most Leftists can understand- obviously.

If Leftist ideology had any intrinsic value, its kool-aid drinking disciples would proudly stand upon the professed merits of Leftism. But there aren't, so they don't. Instead, Leftists resort to- and rely on- lies, deceit, and the practice of intentionally brainwashing people into their belief system to increase its numbers and influence.

And if Leftists have their way, it will only get worse.

Teacher Gives Student ‘A’ for Saying This

The left already owns the public education realm. This stuff shouldn't surprise us. It will only get worse.
