FOOTBALL Betting Business: What legal online sports betting in Tennessee means for college and pro teams

I have mixed feelings...at first glance I don't really care.

Steep entrance...

Tennessee will collect a 20% tax of a sports betting operator’s adjusted gross income. They also have to pay $750K annual fee.

And my favorite - its about the kids! And helping the addicts.

That tax revenue is projected to bring in an estimated $50 million annually, which will be set aside for education, infrastructure projects and gambling addiction treatment.

What about the kids that suffer because their dad spent all the rent/ grocery money gambling it away?

So that isn't possible until it is legal? Have never understood that logic. Can't the same be said for alcohol, cigarettes, lottery tickets? Pick whatever "vice" you want. What you see as a vice or morally wrong, others see as entertainment. To each their own.

I would be architectureing a para mutual gambling corner at Floyd. Let the beer flow.

Free entrance to games as long as you gamble.

Have monitors up with current odds and scores, similar to a sports book. It's coming. Might as well embrace and find a way to take advantage of it.

I’m very interested to see what types of juice they are charging. If they are fair and charging the standard 10% juice then it will be a success. Anything more and people should continue to use offshore and local books.
