We literally look like the worst team in FBS football right now. I don't care who the coach is or what the situation is. This is unacceptable under any circumstances.
As an old timer who's been following the Raiders since '75 let's go back in time to 1979. We had a new coach, his name was Boots Donnelly. As a new hire he said all the things we wanted to hear after seeing the program turn to crap.
His 1979 record: 1 - 9, & we looked bad
His 1980record: 2 - 8, & still looked equally bad but with slight improvement. After that it all changed.
I have no idea if CDM can or will turn this around, but using history as a guide I'm willing to give him some time. But I agree fellas, man we look bad.

Offense doesn't look too bad. It's shot itself in the foot a couple of times. We'll be ok in the long run there.
Pass D looks bad. Not sure it's a scheme thing. It's hard to tell in real time. We have a lot of guys near the ball, but they appear to be a step behind a lot of WKU's guys.
If this helps you feel better then go with it.
But it's a totally different game these days. Rosters have major turn over every year now. The days of coaches being bad for a year or two and then magically finding lightning in a bottle don't really exist anymore.
I don't even know what to say. The offense has zero points. The offensive line is terrible. NV was supposed to be a good QB but has made several mistakes in a key game. Our play calling is more predictable than the government printing money. What on earth is reassuring to you, I will never know.
I was hoping our guys would be somewhat competitive. Is there one position that we are performing well in?

They've gotten down the field through the air - a couple of bad reads and that weird pick shot themselves in the foot. The front 7 is holding its own vs the run game (not like WKU needs to run the ball as much as they're carving us up through the air).
The season is 12 games long. I expected us to open 1-4. The program is rebuilding - it is what it is.
There's 16 new coaches in the G5. Only 3 of them are undefeated. Things like this aren't fixed overnight.
I’ve been watching it on ESPN+ but after that last Topper TD I can’t watch anymore of these bad angles, flopping around and missing tackles. Pitiful.
I'm 100% willing to give CDM time. But I at least expect to be competitive the first year even if we don't win. 0-28 vs a conference mate is not being competitive. When things get this bad, I'm not gonna watch.
All I've asked for is game to game improvement. In my mind the season started today so now it is time for that improvement. And there are lots of opportunities and places to get better at. So it pisses me off, but I know I also have to give it a chance.

maybe so. but so far, he's earned his money way more than Mason and Mason makes more. Stock started making 180k his first year and took us to a bowl with a piece of the title.

This was my first game since the UTSA game two years ago and only my second game the last four years. This is as bad as I’ve ever seen our defense play. geez, Louise. Western ran through us like we were Swiss cheese. Totally embarrassing. After the second touchdown, we were screaming “on sidekick“ and many people were agreeing with us.
Men’s revenue sports has been in shambles for over 5 years.
