BASKETBALL We are a couple weeks out from March....

Jax St. in Huntsville will be a home game for them unless MT fans show up in numbers. I’ll make plans to attend since the CUSA tournament isn’t in Texas again. It’s about 90 min. from my driveway to the VBC. 😂

Have we ever been in a conference with so much parity?
I've been scratching my head about this. My immediate answer is no, but there have been times that two or three quality conference opponents over the decades. I've been a season ticket holder since '79 and a fan since the early '70s (attended games when they were still in the Alumni Memorial Gym). The OVC had some great coaches over the years, wku and murray state always had great coaches and occasionally there were others (like Akron when the Zips had Bobby Huggins or Austin Peay with Lake Kelly on two separate occasions, in the '80s. This has to be the strongest conference, on paper at least, MT has been a part of since the early to mid 70's.

I would like to avoid Liberty for sure. They are just a bad match up for us. They play really smart and do a lot of back cuts to neutralize our aggressive defense. They are very similar to Belmont and Bradley we lost to earlier this seasons. We always struggle against these type of teams even during the Kermit Davis years. I have no idea why, because other teams we beat have no problem handling them.

Liberty and surprisingly I’ll say Kennesaw State. I think we matchup well with WKU so I wouldn’t be mad about seeing them again even though it’s hard to beat someone 3 times. Liberty is too technical and they do not make mistakes. They shoot well so they would be a terrible matchup for us like TrueBlue147 said. Kennesaw is just so physical and I’m sure they would like another shot at us.
