I was one of about 500 people at the game last night. Kermit did an amazing job raising money to make this game happen and the AD did nothing to promote it. We Need a change in the way things are done or we will become another UAB.

Attendance was 2782, just shy of the 3000 mark that I think lots of folks were expecting given the scenario...not bad for a Tournament that nobody heard of until a week ago.

There were emails, Twitters, Instagrams, Facebooks, DNJ articles, Radio coverage...and we got 3000 to the game on a Wednesday night in the bible belt during Spring Break, not too bad.

Fire the AD? Who fires their AD because of attendance to the CIT tournament wasn't phenomenal?

What does CIT even stand for?

There is a job posting in the Athletic Department if anyone is interested:

The crowd was actually larger than I expected. Team with no past history or rivalry at 6:00pm on a Wednesday. The ones who need to step up are the students.

Dumbest thing I have read on here in a while. I think you will fit in nicely over at BRZ. You should check it out.

What an idiotic post. I noticed you even went to the extreme of creating your phony-baloney "jjparm" to agree with yourself to add (in your mind) credence or emphasis to your ridiculous post. Go troll somewhere else, loser.

This reminds me of the time I led the charge for Andy Mac to leave the program change is scary but it is long overdue.

You right it was a CIT game, but our players deserved more support than that. Shouldn't matter what tournament it was. It's sad these kids have no home court advantage.

Sorry i would like to see fans at a sporting event. I will be at the tke house if anyone wants to hang out....oh wait!

Massaro isn't going anywhere. The reported turnout wasn't that bad considering it was a Wednesday night, short notice, etc...

confident that marketing and promotions will improve with the new staff that MT has

We just don't have enough fans, not amount of marketing is really going to change it. The truth is we have a new team (with lots of weaknesses) that had a nice run in the tourney.

We "bought" our way to host the game into a tourney that no one but the most hard core bb fan even knows about - its really a glorified exhibition game.

Personally, I think its NCAA or NIT or nothing. There are 100 slots in these two, if you not top 100 do your really need to continue?

But I don't blame our AD for 2700 people showing.

No. No it isn't

Chris has done and continues to do a great job. Not sure the attendance can be laid at his feet.

What concerns me is the lack of students at games...

That is essentially a free night of entertainment that they are passing up. I know the litany of excuses, but other programs seem to have good crowds of students for their games. The last four years, the win total, is pretty impressive. But students have no idea. They are not there. And as future alumni, in coming years they won't be there.

Oh burn. Still a dumb post. Hey at least you got to spread out on those good front row seats...

I dunno. I kinda like what UAB is doing in basketball right now.

That's the million dollar question Space. Where are the students? That goes for all sports. No pride. Why?

If I were Chris then I would focus on taking the steps necessary to get alumni more engaged. At this point I would look at revamping the whole sports information department. They must provide the content needed to get our fans engaged and they just clearly don't. You have to find information and content instead of it being pushed to you. That is a major problem. The information we do get is nothing compared to what the bigger programs are getting to their fan base. They do a great job of consistently getting the latest pertinent information about their sports programs to their fan base. Its as if the fan base where in the coaches meetings! I remember times when I would eat lunch with Roy Mewbourne and he just didn't really have any new and updated information. He seemed to be as in the dark as I was about the goings on in our program. This must stop! Hell....we can't even get an up to date depth chart on our rivals sight which is yet another reflection on just how behind we are.

If I were to find a weakness in the AD's game then this would be it. The content is there. It doesn't cost much to pick up the phone and talk to the coaches, watch practices, write it up and publish it to various content sights and e-mail blasts. It just takes a plan and some basic execution.

When I ran GoMiddle.com, the depth chart updates came down from above (Yahoo Sports). There was a backdoor that you could edit the depth chart but it was time consuming and the software seemed to have bugs. Maybe it's changed since then, but your best bet is to check team website

Well other sites are always up to date on their depth chart. Why do you think ours is singled out? My guess is because someone is not making sure it happens.
