. . . or do you care?

Even though the Raptors have a 3-1 lead and 2 of the last 3 are in Toronto I still think the Warriors have a chance depending upon Durant's return and his ability to quickly recover from the layoff.
Your thoughts?

[As an aside: I was going to post this in the "Around the Water Cooler" fourms but then I saw it is for non sports related topics only - just trying to start a little conversation during this "down" time - could just as easily started a discussion of Dean Hayes having two more All-Americans or today's Belmont Stakes (Been a rather boring Triple Crown series this year for me)]

Could not care less about the NBA

To be honest, the NBA is background noise for me and has been for decades. I don't think I could name more than a half dozen players these days and if I can remember their names it usually for something other than their game.

I’m a casual NBA observer. I do like Kawhi Leonard, and I think it’s pretty cool that the Finals is a matchup between two teams that are led by players from San Diego State (Leonard) and Davidson (Curry). I guess I’m for the Raptors but I wish we could’ve seen what happened if Durant was playing for Golden State.

Based on some balsy, shrewd decisions the Raptors made after last season, hard to pull against them.
They fired their 7 year, current NBA coach of the year, after he compiled his best record ever at 59-23. They won their division 4 of his 7 years there, though couldn’t get past LeBron’s Cav’s.
They promoted his lead assistant, who had NEVER been an NBA HC. He had been a HC at lower levels, just never in the NBA.
They then took a huge gamble & traded with the Spurs for Kawhi Leonard. Due to injuries he only played 9 games last year & his relationship with the Spurs turned acrimonious. Lot of speculation how serious, if at all, his leg injury was? Plus, and most importantly, he can be a free agent after this year. So, they rolled the dice he could get back to being a top 5 player and they could entice him to re-up with them after this year.
He is a Southern Cal guy and apparently yearns to get back there. Obviously, Toronto is NOT a coveted destination for NBA free agents. Due to how the CBA is structured, Toronto can offer him more years (5) and about $40+ million dollars more than any other team can. So, choose between 5 yeas/$185 million with Toronto. Or, sign with who has cap scape for 4 years/$145 million. And live where you want. He is by far the best 2-way player in the NBA.
Gutsy moves any way you look at it. It resonates with me as it’s so similar to how MT operates.

After Toronto’s recent loss, an MT coach would say, “they competed.”

But let’s be serious for a second : does the MT athletic really resemble the “gutsy moves” of the Toronto Raptors?

Obviously a joke. Both the comment & MT’s AD.
