Princeton has played one game, against Duquesne and won 65-57, led in scoring by the Ivy League freshman of the year last season, now a sophmore, Madison St Rose, 26 points, 5 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists.

Chen, Mitchell, and St Rose were the scorers among the starters, Amanze (6-4 sophmore out of Nigeria), and Belker (5-9 freshman) didn't score. a point.

Carla Berube won a ton of games in Division III. I want MT to hire Division II or III head coaches like her.

This will be a great test of where our team is. Princeton is an excellent program and they have a very good team. I hope there is a big crowd on hand... Alysha Clark is giving a pregame speech to the Next Level Club, and there is going to be an AC poster giveaway too.

Happy to hear Sifa will be joining the team today! Her speed should be a great benefit to the team. Saw the post that Jada is rumored to be lost for the year. Still holding out hope, but if we don't see her dress out in the next couple of weeks I imagine she will be red-shirted. That would be very disappointing. Looked forward to seeing her skills on the floor. Understood she could be our most talented player. That says a lot for an already pretty talented squad.

Big time game and perfect timing for Sifa to be eligible to join us. Hoping for another big win today. I'm sure the crowd will be into it on "Alysha Clark Day"!

Boldyreva has increased her ability to rebound & hold onto the ball considerably from her 1st 2 years!

Yep. Major improvements there! She has made impressive strides... becoming the player we all knew she could be. Love to see it. Great first quarter, up 19-12!

Wheeler playing horribly in this first half. Need her to get it together.

Ladies haven't been used to being challenged at home. Interesting to see how we react this 2nd half.

Since 30-16 lead, Princeton outplaying Raiders 21-8. Taking Boldyreva out of the game. Ladies are playing too tight this 2nd half.

Yep. No adjustments at ALL in this game... same reason why we lose NCAA games. No timeouts called all game, which is insane

We are almost certainly going to lose this game. Under 8 minutes and Insell is standing on the sideline with arms crossed and hasn't called a timeout at all. Just baffling. Also, getting outhustled and dominated on the boards by a smaller team -- 10 rebound difference already.

Couldn't get a rebound if we had 9 players on the floor. Princeton is the better team tonight.

Princeton coach talking non stop to her team during timeout. Our coaches total silence.

That right there is the difference and part of why we never succeed against these very good teams. There's not much creativity/adjustments.

This was the point where we were weakest. Princeton got the majority of loose balls anywhere on the court. Their big girl got a lot, but those didn't seem to come at bad times like the others did. I think that if we had gotten 1/2 of those loose balls we could have won this game, despite our bad shooting percentage.

Feel bad for the young ladies, but seen this before. This game was bottom line about mental endurance & the ability to come back from a gut punch. Princeton took our punch early on & came back because of their mental toughness. Team's usually take on the personality of their coaches. The Lady Raiders on the other hand came out swinging, but when their opponent swung back instead of fighting through it they crumbled.
That's not a statement out of anger it's pretty much there for everyone to see. That doesn't mean the season is over. On the contrary when this happened before it usually was during the NCAA Tournament meaning that was it for the year. Being early in the season the ladies can take this loss & hopefully use it as a learning experience for the rest of the year. This should make them a mentally tougher team, & the next time an opponent swings back hopefully we'll remember this game & react with a guttier performance next time.

The good news is this is a learning experience for everyone -- players, coaches, and fans. Lots of things to take away from this one. 19-0 bench points and very limited use of bench should, as always, be a point of concern for us (mainly due to Insell not playing subs basically at all). But, we had a great game with a Top 25 quality team who will almost certainly be in the NCAAs.

For those interested, to get an idea of how good is Princeton women's basketball they play #3 UCLA tomorrow Fri Nov 17 at 2:30. It's on the PAC 12 network according to Princeton's schedule. So this is likely another road game in LA.
If Princeton plays the Bruins a good competitive game we, & the Lady Raiders may not feel quite as upset as we did last Sunday afternoon.

I imagine they will. Princeton is a very good team and Top 25 quality. Wouldn't be surprised if they win.
