from a preview:

In steps veteran head coach Rob Jeter, who recently spent three seasons at the helm of Western Illinois after 11 seasons and two NCAA Tournament appearances with Milwaukee.

Jeter has no disillusionment about this season. He’s aware taking over a roster with almost zero continuity in an unfamiliar — and very tough — conference will be a major task.

“Not knowing the league is a challenge,” said Jeter. “You can watch all the film you want, but until you experience the travel, it’s just new.”

Jeter is looking to rebuild a program at SUU, and that starts by laying a sound foundation in Year 1.

another excerpt:

THE OUTLOOK

This is a rebuilding year for the Southern Utah program, make no mistake about it. The Thunderbirds reached new heights last season by winning 24 games and finishing third in their inaugural WAC go-around — but to do so again would be shocking.

Jeter is a proven coach and program builder, but even he needs time to get the juices flowing at a new stop, and with all the roster turnover from last season, the Thunderbirds will likely spend time in the conference cellar in 2023-24.

With Jeter’s style of play, SUU is sure to catch one or two teams sleeping on any given night. His squad will play extremely hard and likely improve as the season progresses. However, it’s more than likely this is a bottom-tier WAC squad this year.

According to current Men's Net Rankings Middle Tennessee is the weakest team in CUSA at #311.

Dominating the boards, shooting over 50% from the field and three. They are not shooting well at all. If we could take care of the ball, this would be a blowout.

See all those turnovers? That's what you get with a players coach that never get's mad at anyone and always kissing ass.

Why is McDevitt still our coach ?

I don't think any of us were anticipating 2 consecutive 37 point halves. Even against a 3-8 team. Correction make that a 4-8 team.

I'll never understand how a coach doesn't get fired with a performance like this.

Look at our team. Look at our program. This is year #6. We are regressing. We are terrible. We are one of the worst teams in the country.

How is McDevitt still employed by this university?
