Sure, there have been some rough patches that need work, but 2-0 is what counts! Excellent win on the road at Murray St.

As MT enters the OVC stretch of schedule, give Kermit credit for taking on the top teams from the OVC. If most teams end up scheduling 3 OVC teams in the non-conf, not too many are going to schedule Murray St and Belmont as 2 of those 3 games. Those two teams are always at the top of the OVC. While the bottom 1/2 to 2/3rds of the OVC standings isn't all that impressive each season, the top 2 or 3 teams in the OVC can play competitively against most teams from just about any conference. Especially when you have to go play on the road at Murray or Belmont. Kermit proves he's not backing down from the tough games. The game at Murray tonight is a good exhibit.

How many programs bring in a good crowd for a game in mid-Nov? That looked like Jan or Feb game in intensity brought by the Murray St team and the sizable loud crowd. Credit Kermit and team for the success that is starting to garner such attention. Murray St appeared amped up for a big game.

As most of you know, Murray St has long tradition of much success in bball especially when at home. I'd dare to say that most any mid-major team has to battle to get a win at Murray St. I don't imagine many P5 programs go to play at Murray St in the non-conf.

It was good to see MT able to grind one out for a win to get the season going. While MT is working out the kinks and are coming together as a new group of players, it is good to see them get the hard fought win in the early going.

Having to replace the starting frontcourt has left some question marks. It sure looks like Kermit has provided an answer with another outstanding transfer who appears is more than able to play. It does appear that it will take a some time to work out the chemistry and flow. The guards, in general, just didn't appear to be in flow especially if one is looking for the guards to step up the offensive punch this season. Hopefully, Giddy got his off night out of his system for a long time. It's highly unlikely he'll have much more of those kind of performances. Simmons was a bright spot off of the bench. Dixon and Johnson hopefully will get back into a scoring flow soon. It was good to see that classic defense show up in the 2nd half vs Murray St. In the first half, the defense just wasn't there yet.

In just a few days, a confident Belmont fresh off their record crowd big win over Vandy will be coming to town for a huge game. Kermit and the team sure do deserve to have a big crowd on hand vs Belmont.

I told y’all Nick King would be a good one. Amazing what good health and good coaching can do for a player.

Josh Pastner almost ruined this young man.

Those Refs though. The officiating was ridiculous. It was pretty much 8 on 5 up in there. Great crowd. Gotta give em credit.
