... freshman forward Caya Williams didn't play in the team's 67-57 season-opening loss to fourth-ranked Tennessee on Friday night.

The Mt. Juliet High School graduate missed the game because of a knee injury according to MTSU coach Rick Insell.

"They're going to operate here in a couple of weeks," Insell said of the injury. "I really don't know what it is. She'll probably be out the rest of the year."

At 6-foot-1, Williams was expected to compete for playing time in the low post with seniors Lauren March and KeKe Stewart and sophomore TiAnna Porter.
