NIL donation information

From Lee:

Hey guys! Individuals CAN use the Blue Raider Exchange and interact directly with our student-athletes regarding NIL deals, as you can see at this link.

We don't have a collective, nor do we have demand for one right now. If anyone wants to support student-athletes directly (without any kind of business interest), they can also donate to the "Student-Athlete Impact Fund" through the BRAA. Click here to do that.

These Technologies Will Change the World

"Flying cars, virtual reality, quantum computing, genetic modification, artificial intelligence, migration into space, a real-life holodeck… Things that once seemed impossible are now becoming reality, and they are becoming reality much faster than most people had predicted. It’s not just that things are changing rapidly, it’s that the pace of change itself is speeding up. On this episode of Conversations with Tom, two of the world’s leading futurists, Peter Diamandis and Steven Kotler, join with Tom Bilyeu for a discussion of the future of technology, culture and the human mind. This future is brighter, wealthier, more abundant and filled with more meaning than most of us could have believed, and it may be coming faster than anyone is prepared for."

BB RECRUITING Macie Phifer Commits

Lady Raiders get a commitment out of '25 5'11" Wing Macie Phifer!

Phifer was just awarded Gatorade's Mississippi Player of the Year award after leading Ingomar to the third state title in four years. SHe averaged over 20 points, 6 rebounds in her junior season.

That totals 2 signees in the '25 signing class with the addition of Carsyn Swaney from Heritage HS (TN). Great class so far, I wouldn't be surprised if we hear from one more this summer!

Interesting quote from Calipari

So as we all know he just left UK. Found this article with a very interesting quote that kind of reminded me of some things here and thought it would create a good discussion as to what an admin needs to do to support. Have we changed? CDM already has more resources than CRS. Collective, bigger social media presence, more community engagement (would Stock have done that if the admin pushed for it?). Is the Spring Game being back more D Mase or the admin? Does McD have all he needs?

The more I see, the more I truly believe a lot of things have come from McP and CM has been hamstrung. Is he still?

Let's talk.

....Calipari doubled down on his disconnect with the Kentucky athletic administration during his meeting with the local media. While considering the position, he asked his friend Kelvin Sampson about Arkansas athletic director Hunter Yurachek. The two previously worked together at Houston. Sampson provided a glowing review to Calipari.
“That got me to where I had to listen (to Arkansas’ offer), because I’m gonna say it again. Basketball coaches win games. Administrations win championships. You know why? Because they want to and it’s important to them.”...

Marshall WBB

As I sit here "working" and watching Marshall v App St in the sun belt quarterfinals (currently up 100-61), I was wondering if y'all have watched their team this year? They are under first year head coach Kim Caldwell who went 191-24 in seven seasons with D2 Glenville State. Their playing style is very unique as they make frequent substitutions of 4-5 each time; something that is probably a foreign concept to us MT wbb fans. On defense, they play in a half court trap every possession which has led to being one of the top teams in forced turnovers. Offensively, they play quick too and are #5 in PPG.

They were able to snag some quality transfers from JUCO as well as the Hayes sisters from Miss St. I imagine this style of play would be beneficial in tournament style basketball, but wonder how sustainable would it be at a "mid-major" to continuously have a deep enough bench to successfully run this style of play?

If they make the NCAA tournament, I'll definitely make a point to see what they can do as I'm curious to see how they pair against a team with quality athletes top to bottom. They are currently projected around a 14 seed.
