Willie Taggert fired

My first thought was Dilfer to UAB now Herman to FAU, and compared it to what we have. Then I remembered they are both going to AAC, so really doesn't matter.

It'll be interesting to see who Liberty hires.

They are another level when it comes to funding (not enthused about sharing a conference with someone who can outspend everyone), so they should be able to hire a pretty solid coach.

Speaking of that, wonder where we stack budget wise with the new look of the conference? No doubt LU is at the top.

they are going after Chadwell

That should be goal of Middle. Two - three years and move on. The goal of all G-5's, some much better then others.
Agreed. I don't even mind 6 or 8. Fickell was at Cincy for 6. Chadwell at Coastal for 5. Fritz at Tulane for 7. Thing is, we knew/know they wouldn't be there for forever. Fickell is gone. Chadwell if he doesn't chase the Liberty $ will be gone next year probably. Fritz is just waiting for right opportunity. That's how it should be. Even Chris Peterson was only at Boise for 8. And they thought he was a lifer.

We KNOW Stock isn't going anywhere. Until he wants to that is.

Doubtful. I've been fans of teams with bad coaches before. If you try your best and fail, I might want a new coach, but I won't hate anyone for it.

One guy is guilty of just not being a great coach. The other guy is an actual fraud.
I'm not a HUGE fan of Taggart. Great recruiter. Great position coach. But he's not a HC.

Some are great coordinators, just not good head coaches. Nothing wrong with that.
Agreed.

Some guys are great HC, but mediocre coaches. It takes a special person, with the right leadership ability at the right time in the right place, to serve as HC and lead a team.

Speaking of previous posts of Stock not going anywhere...when Deion told his players he was heading to Colorado, he said this little nugget.

"In coaching you either get elevated or you get terminated. Ain't no other way. There is no graveyard for coaches where they die at the place, either you go walk off on your own recognizance or get run off. There ain't no other way."

He obviously has never visited Murfreesboro.

Which is why our AD completely crippled us with the auto-contract. There is just nothing we can do except never be a fan of this team again. That's the only move. Either put up with this crap or walk away. Very sad but there it is.

I just hope whenever it is over we’ve learned our lesson and never do it again. I’m not sold we have and that’s the scary part to me.

J Rob is gone with the Titans. Some guys don't know good players from bad come draft time. And sometimes those same exact guys also don't know great players from average players come contract re-negotiation. AJ was just the icing on the cake to send him packing. Bye John

Taggart is set for life with his FSU money. He will end up on Michigan staff or the Ravens staff.

Saw this coming, Deion was very loud when Tagg was fired after 21 games at FSU. I really want CU to work for Deion, but the staff he's put together so far hasn't impressed me.

Looks like Taggart is headed to Deion. That'll capture the Florida recruits easily.
2 things getting the kids and keeping them are one thing. Most florida kids don't d well in cold weather places. Also you have to screen for Sickle Cell Trait also in that high altitude.
