Why conservatives are losing ground in America

All the polls say the same thing: Americans who identify themselves as conservatives outnumber liberals by about two to one.

Yet social power has shifted to the left-wing precincts.

The reason: organization.

The far left is dominating the Internet and the entertainment industry, including the journalistic media.

Outside of talk radio and Fox News there are few non-liberal voices heard nationwide.

The intensity of the far left is almost frightening. Many of these people will do almost anything to destroy their opposition.

So conservative Americans find themselves somewhat demoralized as they see the Supreme Court siding with the left and the national news media promoting liberal causes on a daily basis.

But some of the blame for that falls on conservatives themselves.

On right-wing radio, you often here about RINOs -- Republicans in Name Only.

Moderates like Jeb Bush are crushed by more conservative commentators.

There is a deep division between the far and moderate right.

You don't see that on the left. Moderate liberal people are not usually scorned by the Media Matters crew. For example, they concentrate solely on defaming traditional Americans.

This is very important. When you have a division among conservatives and a consolidation among liberals, the power shifts left.

Did you know that in the last presidential election, 82% of self-identified conservatives voted for Mitt Romney?

That means 17% voted for President Obama.

In the 2008 election, 20% of self-identified conservatives voted for Mr. Obama.

Believe me, you're not going to get that kind of flexibility on the left.

They stay true to their school, as the Beach Boys once sang.

And then there are the giant media companies, which are overwhelmingly staffed by liberal thinkers.

Yesterday's announcement that NBC has terminated all business with Donald Trump was instructive.

Talking Points believes that decision was based on dollars, not politics. NBC needs young Hispanic viewers and Donald Trump is now very controversial with them.

However, as Brit Hume pointed out last night, NBC employs Al Sharpton, probably the most polarizing media figure among white Americans.

So there's that.

The hard truth is that unless traditional Americans begin to unite, they will continue to lose power.

In the last election, the Democrats and liberals lost because President Obama's policies have not been successful and there was conservative unity about that.

But now with the presidential sweepstakes underway, division has crept back in.

Hillary Clinton is moving to the left quickly.

She is actually engaging far-left smear merchants to help her campaign.

Meantime, there are about 20 Republicans who want to run against Mrs. Clinton.

And there's absolutely no unity at all, other than Democratic policies are bad.

The left knows that, and they know they can attack people like Donald Trump with impunity. Few media outlets will defend him or Cruz or Huckabee and on and on.

So that's the picture.

Summing up -- if the right wants to regain momentum in this country, they better stop bickering among themselves.

And that's the memo.

BBJ, as I have stated before, so many people state that they are conservative but the truth of the matter they are not conservative. Twenty percent of self-identified conservatives voted for Obama in 2008 and 17% of self-identified conservatives voted for Obama in 2012. Are you kidding me? None of these so-called self-identified conservatives are conservative. By the way, no true conservative would ever vote for John Kerry either but that is another story that I prefer not to revisit. The bottom line here is I despise RINOs about as much as anyone but what O'Reilly says is true. Unless Republicans stop bickering among themselves, Hillary will be the president for the next eight years.

Flash, I agree that conservatives must unite, but that's going to be very difficult if we wind up with another RINO as our Presidential nominee next year (such as Jeb Bush). We need a strong conservative leader we can support and unite with, such as Ted Cruz, who has a proven conservative track record. May God bless Senator Ted Cruz and all that he stands for!

BBJ, I agree with you that Ted Cruz is the best candidate to turn this country around but unfortunately you have some people, like one poster on here who may purport to be a conservative yet he is critical of Sen. Cruz. Considering how Sen. Cruz has been the only candidate to fight Obamacare from day one and is still fighting it to this day, how can any true conservative honestly be critical of him? To some Republicans, they have to agree with a candidate 100% on all the issues or they won't vote for the candidate. That is precisely why Hillary will more than likely win in 2016 despite her criminal record because as O'Reilly pointed out Democrats "stay true to their school."

"There is nobody in this race who has fought harder, who has fought longer, who has invested more blood, sweat and tears, who has endured more vilification, standing up to Obamacare, than I have," Cruz told Hewitt Monday. "And there is nobody who is campaigning harder every single day." -- Sen. Ted Cruz

"To some Republicans, they have to agree with a candidate 100% on all the issues or they won't vote for the candidate."

Then they'll never vote at all using that flawed logic! You'll never find a candidate that meets that criteria.

I will say this, I've yet to find an issue that I'm at odds with regarding Senator Ted Cruz. He's the real deal.

Im not looking for perfect, all I want is a candidate that is Pro-American Worker. You would think that would be an easy thing to find, maybe Scott Walker or Trump. Sanatorium too but I think I would get more votes then he does, he rubs a lot of people the wrong way and I just do not think he is a viable candidate.
