I considered the post transfer to be a want, not necessarily a need. Having Lizzy would've been a key piece to next year's puzzle as you develop the incoming freshman class. There are some names still out there (I'll add later today), but I'm confident they feel good where this roster is now. You don't want to get into the game of just signing players just because you have the open roster spot.
# of players in portal listed over 6-3: 70 # of those players with 2+ years of CBB experience: 49 # of those players with starting and/or >15 min/g: 17 Here is a list of some names that would be worth a look:
Courtney Dahlquist, 6-3 F SR from Campbell
Played 4 years at Campbell and started all 35 games for WNIT team. Averaged 10 ppg on 37.5% 3FG. Not your typical big but has solid rebounding numbers.
Claudia Langarita, 6-4 F SR from California
Played 2 seasons at Cal, but prior was a WCC All-Freshman for San Francisco. She averaged over 10 ppg for the Dons. Birthplace is Spain which may add some international ties back to our current roster.
Izabella Zingaro, 6-4 F JR from Montana
Signed to Iowa State out of HS. Started 11 games in her one season at Montana. She averaged nearly 8 points, and 4 rebounds with impressive 59% FG and 73% FT.
Tabitha Amanze, 6-4 F JR from Princeton
Former Top 100 recruit out of HS has battled a lot of injuries in her career. Playing mostly in a reserve role with 2 starts for a NCAAT program scoring 6 points, 4 rebounds per contest.
Jaida Belton, 6-4 F JR from Texas Southern
Good potential scoring 7 points, 7 rebounds per game in the SWAC. It is tough to gauge the talent at lower conferences but she scored 12 points, 11 rebounds against LA Tech in LY's WNIT game.
Maya Peat, 6-5 C SR from Texas Tech
Played just 10 minutes/game for Texas Tech with 3 points, 2 rebounds. She played 3 seasons at Arkansas-Pine Bluff where she is the program's record holder in career rebounds. Over three seasons she averaged 9 points, 7 rebounds per game at UAPB with 15 career double-doubles.
Long Shots:
Isis Beh, 6-3 F SR from Arizona
Former teammate with Blakely in Arizona. Started 30 games and averaged 8 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists for NCAAT team.
Chloe Williams, 6-3 F JR from Indiana State
Maybe not the longest of shots coming off an injury in 2024-25 but she averaged 13 points, 7 rebounds in the 12 games she started.
With Yu Han Lin signing, some dominoes fell yesterday. Not a problem considering the backcourt is very competitive for playing time with a combination of 6-8 players that could play.
