In Murfreesboro, in the first ever televised OVC game, the #7 ranked Raiders (5-2,3-1) lost 13-7 to Austin Peay. All the Governor scoring came in the 1st half. MT's only score was a 13 yard pass from Billy Walker to Jamie Jamison.

Quote from DNJ writer Lee Sadler: “The game ended with a few fights, a few students taken to jail and Austin Peay tearing down the south goal post.”

In Nashville, MT (4-2) lost 23-13 to Vanderbilt. The Raiders scored first on a 42-yard run by Buck Rolman and only trailed 14-13 with two minutes remaining, but allowed another TD and a safety. Rolman scored the other Raider touchdown too.

I'm not certain, but I believe this photo is of Rolman's 42 yard run.
