Round 2: Sunday July 9
POD 4
#7 Blue Zoo (Middle Tennessee Alumni) vs. #10 PrimeTime Players
Game Time: 9:15p ET
Middle Tennessee State has appeared in three of the last five NCAA Tournaments in large part due to the contributions of those on this Blue Zoo squad. Stephen Hurt (Kansas State) and Adonis Thomas (Memphis) join the core of MTSU alumni. The PrimeTime Players will rely on many of the same players that helped them advance to the Super-17 in TBT 2015. Although they went one-and-done last summer, GM Chris Thomas always has this squad geared up to play an intense 36 minutes of basketball.
#2 Ram Nation (VCU Alumni) vs. #15 Showtime
Game Time: 7:30p ET
After adding five-year NBA veteran Eric Maynor to an already stacked roster, many are looking at Ram Nation as one of the favorites to win it all in TBT 2017. In addition to eight other former VCU heroes, Denzel Bowles (James Madison), Romeo Travis (Akron), Reggie Williams (VMI) and Dion Wright (St. Bonaventure) will all be big contributors for this team. With that being said, nobody has a desire to win more than the Presley brothers. After playing Overseas Elite tough in the first-round last summer, Showtime will finally look to get over the hump in what would be a milestone victory for the town of Council, Virginia.
