BASKETBALL RPI rankings...

That RPI ranking is different than Pomeroy, CBS RPI and the official NET. UAB is well ahead of us on the NET and Pomeroy

I have no clue what the difference in those rankings are.

RPI really isn't used much anymore. It really only accounts for winning (us and our opponents and their opponents). Doesn't take in to account location or have categories for quick view of type of win...ie quads. Example beating a team with a NET of 70 on our court is a Q2 win. Besting them on theirs is a Q1.
It also calculates schedule strength as a prediction model of the whole season. Used to factor in margin of victory but doesn't anymore. NET is used more now and really paints a more accurate picture. It also only factors D1 wins.

Our NET right now as a conference is 10th. We are 4th in conf with a score of 108. For reference FAU is 19, UT AP ranked #12 is 3 in NET. WVU currently sitting at 17-13 record has a NET score of 26 due to schedule strength.

Our SoS is higher than FAU overall, but in Q3&4 for example FAU is a combined 19-0. UAB 20-2. We are 12-7. FAU also has a higher NET avg on their losses of 98. Ours...154.

It's honestly quite fascinating and really paints a picture of how good a team is and exposes those bad losses. Example our UTSA loss, their NET is 302.
