Beat the Commode Odors!
excerpt:
...The Vanderbilt Commodores and the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders face off on Saturday in week 2 college football action.
The Vanderbilt Commodores appeared to be on their way to an opening week win over South Carolina but they let it slip away. The Vanderbilt offense scored 10 points and gained just 242 yards and never really got it going. Vandy QB Kyle Shurmur wasn’t good enough as he completed just 8 of his 22 passes for 73 yards. Ralph Webb had a solid day on the ground for the Commodores rushing for 97 yards and Khari Blasingam rushed for 68 yards and a touchdown. The Vanderbilt defense allowed 13 points and 308 yards grabbing two fumbles. Zach Cunningham had 12 tackles to lead Vandy, Oren Burks had 6 tackles, and Ryan White had 5 tackles. It was a disappointing start to the season for Vanderbilt and they can’t afford too many more losses or they will be watching the bowl games from home once again.
We didn’t learn much about the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in week 1 as they played FCS opponent Alabama A&M cruising to a blowout win. The MTSU offense had their way rushing for 246 yards and passing for 435 despite allowing two interceptions. Blue Raiders QB Brent Stockstill completed 30 of his 36 passes for 329 yards with 5 touchdowns. Terrelle West led the way in the rushing attack for Middle Tennessee rushing for 83 yards while I’Tavius Mathers rushed for 62 yards while Richie James was the top receiver with 8 catches and Dennis Andrews and Ty Lee each had 4 catches. The MTSU defense allowed just 146, had 1 interception, and 4 sacks. Malik Hawkins led the way for MTSU with 6 tackles, Myles Harges had 5 tackles, and Khalil Brooks had 4 tackles. Middle Tennessee takes a big jump up in competition this week facing a SEC team.
Vanderbilt is 6-0 against the spread against CUSA, 4-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread, and 4-1 against the spread following a loss. Middle Tennessee is 5-1 against the spread in their last six games, 5-2 against the spread following a win, and 1-4 against the spread against the SEC. The underdog has covered the point spread in the last four meetings of these two teams.....
Seeing that photo of the player posing in the new uniform, the music from Flash Dance is running through my head...
who knew this kid would grow up to wear a vandy uniform...
