My son is a freshman at UTC. he's been to a few games. Said the center is a Kansas transfer and is pretty good. Our bigs are going to have to have a good game.

Silvio de Sousa is better known for throwing chairs at Kansas..

I'm more concerned about Malachi Smith and David Jean-Baptiste personally..

UTC beat VCU but hasn't beaten anyone else that was a tough opponent, but this being a true road game is hard to tell- which team will show up for either side?

LOL! I don't really follow basketball, but I remember the chair throwing incident! Didn't realize it was that guy!!

Saw a lot of games in that 80 to 83 stretch at the Roundhouse!!!
In one of the very few non-MT college basketball games I have attended, I saw the North Carolina team play utc (beat the mocs 73-66)there in December of 82. That tarheel team was crazy loaded with talent.

A couple of less talented players on that squad: Jim Braddock was a local tennessee kid and the grandson of James Braddock the depression era boxer of whom a movie was made a decade or so ago: The Cinderella Man.

And I believe Steve Hale was the guy (could be wrong here) that got hurt when Kerry Hammonds, Sr. fouled him on the way to the basketball goal and Dean Smith claimed it was intentional during Bruce Stewart's Raiders' first NCAA tournament appearance. Never was a fan of Smith or UNC from that time forward. He acted like Hammonds should have stepped aside and bowed to Hale allowing him to lay the ball up without any defense.

Living in Chatt, I'll be taking my son to the game and cheering loud.

As mentioned before, David Jean-Baptiste is a force. Hoping we ride a wave from the Costal win here.

Going to be a tough win though.

Chatt is 43 in net rankings and 108 in kenpom.

We are 116 and 201.

Highest we have played since Murray I think. This would be a very good win. We need a good away win.

We will have to score like we never have before in a true road game. Our key players will not be able to disappear and have off shooting nights. Lawrence and Jefferson will have to pour the points in and we will need solid contributions from dishman, sims, etc.

Lenard is the X factor in my eyes he can jump out of the gym and create big mismatches in the paint. I wish we had more set plays for him. I love those under the basket throw ups to him where he lays it in for an easy 2 coming out of bounds.

guessing we will be close to double digit dogs if not right at 10.

I went to the Coastal game. My first CNM game as well. Probably will sign up for ESPN+ so I can watch the UTC game.

utc's history and numbers shows the series going back to 1980 and disregarding anything before.

I believe the mocs played basketball at the D2 level before then. Strange they seem to dismiss their own history before 1980, which was pretty good. I remember two guards that played for them, both from Louisville, Gordon and Golden, IIRC, that could've played most anywhere.

Good balance so far with 6 guys in the scoring column so far.. guys taking advantage of back cuts in the overplay so that’s recognition we don’t always see with this group.. 17-14 MT up 3 with 10:06 in the 1st

Lenard’s good play seems to have affected Eli’s confidence.. kid can’t buy a basket and is forcing things.. need him to let the game come to him and settle in.. 6 TO’s for the half but 2 of those were questionable calls.. Jefferson & Weston with 10 points each..
