BASKETBALL Middle Tennessee (12-5, 3-1) vs WKU (11-6, 2-2), (ESPN+). 6PM, Saturday, January 18, 2025

You’re a dinosaur if you think 18-22 yo athletes think like you or I once did.. whether you like it or not kids these days want to feel appreciated for what they do- not for what previous teams did.. you talked about checking out in your fandom many times and it’s clear you’re simply a hater to the bone.. if you think kids are not entitled these days you’re extinct and clueless.. this team doesn’t care about the past- nor should they as it won’t help them win games now
Their "entitlement" entitles me to not give a shit and not come to games to watch prima donna's. It's kinda of like Lebron spewing his politics. No one is paying him for his political opinions. I don't need 18-22 year olds who are now being paid to play to tell my why I should do something they think I should be doing, which let's just be real here for a moment. It isn't about the fan base at all. It's basically "hey I'm doing good now, look at me. I need more people looking at me." LMAO. That's literally all that is. So, the irony here is that the one who is clueless is yourself if you think the arena should be fuller. Clearly the fan base has already spoken and made your perspectives as worthless as players telling the fans what they should do with their time.

I’m not sure what you expect them to do to “earn” having people support them in person at the arena beyond winning and creating a culture of community. I personally am flying down from NYC for both the ladies game at 2 and the men’s at 6, driving to one after the other. I’m going because I am excited they’re both having good seasons and putting an entertaining product on the court in my view. The fact that you think people are clueless for saying the team deserves better crowds shows that you’re not the kind of person who they want there anyway

Ahead of Saturday's big basketball showdowns between WKU and MTSU, the two schools are teaming up to launch the "100 Miles of Hoops" donor challenge. From now until February 14, the two schools will compete to see which fanbase can rally the most support this basketball season.

"Even though they are having a successful season to this point, I refuse to support the program because of recent history, but I will continue to post on the fan message board telling everyone I choose not to support them" is an interesting take. To each their own I guess.

Good or bad, this is my school and my team. I love my school, and this season has been fun to watch. If that makes me a naïve fan or alum, then I guess I am. Oh well. I think, in a weird way, it's cool to be an alum and supporter of a mid-major school. We aren't flooded with band wagon fans or "sidewalk alumni". Would be willing to bet that 90% of the posters on this board either have degrees from Middle, or are currently enrolled. It's personal for us because it's OURS, and that's awesome.

Like I said before, the negativity on here gets old. It's supposed to be fun to be a fan. Yeah, losses can be tough, but man, we get to play again next game, next season, etc.

I am excited for the biggest game of the season tomorrow. It's Western week. We should be talking trash about Bowling Green Community College instead of taking shots at each other.

MTOleBlue, that level of commitment for tomorrow is next level. Now THAT's being a supporter. Cheers to you, bro.

See ya'll at The Glass House. #BeatWestern

You seem like a miserable person. Hopefully it stays online and not in your real life.

And you sound like someone who is a loser or loves to lose.

As I’ve said before the only thing that has made me miserable is MT athletics and I look forward to the day when we have new leadership who will hopefully still have time to turn this dumpster fire of an athletics program around.

When Weston’s career is over he’s going to be a nightmare to defend on the playground. Maybe he can land with the Big3.

CNM is really lucky he didn’t get T’d up for chasing down the official to half court after the no call on an obvious travel by WKU.

Really fun night! Our big man might be the best we have ever had. 18 rebounds is insane and some of his moves inside are really something to see.
Agreed. His moves are really impressive inside. The reverse layup reminds me of Alysha Clark back when she was dominating the post.

I don’t think we can understate how big this win was. Good crowd and the team delivered. So often when big opportunities would come along for football or basketball we would blow it. Especially when the fans show up in force. This was is possibly a momentum game to get butts in seats. Win this next road swing and it should be an even bigger crowd for the home swing against the far west schools.

For sure! Good to see the football team in the stands cheering on the team!

Lower bowl only holds 5,500 just fyi. But I'm not one that dwells on the attendance numbers like a lot of others.
A fair amount of students were there not even in the seats for a portion of the game. I think that helped the numbers too which was nice to see. The fact that they sold General Admission tickets but didn't even open the bleachers goes to show it was definitely a "let's buy some extra tickets and boost that number" situation. But hey, every school does it.

Shout out to Green. His development is coming along great. Beautiful stroke. Believe MT Weston, Porter, Counter, & now including Green has the best rotation of ball handling guards in the league.
Can't wait to get Lands back. His absence has really given Alston the minutes to boost his playing time & confidence. When Lands comes back we will have a heck of a front court rotation to go along with the best combo of guards in CUSA.
Speaking of CUSA, this is not a cellar dwelling G5 league. Pretty good group of teams in this league everywhere. MT is coming into their own down the stretch, & are becoming a tough out.
