McCarney should be gone by Monday. Did you see the dude that set his season tix on fire? LOL. I kinda want to do that to mine right now too. I'll keep coming though.

Well crap, hope this does not turn out just like Illinois. The Illinois game looked to be a really favorable game for MTSU until the week before the season started. Illinois fired their HC. Interim coach took over who almost immediately had Illinois performing at an improved and somewhat higher level. The game became much more challenging for MT when Illinois fired their coach a few weeks before our game. I hope MTSU is still able to get that win even if an interim HC has them improving some before the end of the season.
I'd say 0-4 or whatever and then a 60 pt loss to a FCS team would pretty much meet the criteria for a canning before the day is over.
...There are a couple of other nuts and bolts I wanted to get to, none more important than how expensive this could end up being for UNT.
I read through McCarney’s contract late tonight. The way I read it is that UNT will have to pay out his base salary of $600,000 a year in addition to some of his incentives. The contract was amended after UNT won the Heart of Dallas Bowl to run through 2019.
It looks like UNT will also have to pay out his season completion payments and radio/TV stipends, which tacks on about another $700,000. McCarney’s agent smartly wrote that in there as well.
Add it all up and it lands in the ballpark of $3 million.
Granted, there is a mitigation clause in there, but what if McCarney cites health issues and retires?
