Hall of Fame Inductees for 2019

Happy for Tony B....my first year at MT was 1985 (started in the spring) but that was a special year for FB. We had some serious talent on that team.

played one season with the Seattle Seahawks of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the 12th round of the 1987 NFL Draft. He played college football at Middle Tennessee State University and attended LaFayette High School in LaFayette, Georgia. Burse was also a member of the Miami Dolphins, Sacramento Surge, Detroit Drive/Massachusetts Marauders, Sacramento Gold Miners/San Antonio Texans, Edmonton Eskimos, San Jose SaberCats, Buffalo Destroyers and Toronto Argonauts.

What I remember about Tony in the NFL was a big game on television and all the hype was going to the notorious LB Bosworth and IIRC Tony stole the show by his play.

In 1985 in MT's undefeated regular season where in a tight game against Youngstown State, there was a big 4th and 40 yd or so conversion where Burse made the catch IIRC. The big win to stay undefeated caused Boots to uncharacteristically call his team a team of destiny.

I was standing on the railing behind the offense ready to leave and head to my car when Burse made the catch and run. Caused me to stay a while longer. One of the most memorable plays in all my years of watching MT FB.

Overdue honor for Jimmy Martin

Martin joins Sleepy Taylor and the late Tim Sisneros off that 1975 Championship team as members of the HoF. Surprised that George Sorrell the OVC POY on that team, and Fred Allen are not, and even though Steve Peeler was not a starter, he was a huge contributor, perhaps the best 6th man a Blue Raider squad ever had, Steve deserves just as much to be there with the rest.
