Has anyone gone down there for the CUSA tournament since being members? Thoughts on the venue?
A lot of people spoke highly of the hot springs tournament while in the belt. I have changed my tune about hot springs since visiting the federal park and city recently. That place has a great vibe to it.
Thinking about going but I don’t know a whole lot about Frisco or the venue.

Our middle daughter and her family moved to the N Dallas ‘burbs 7+ years ago, so a trip to The Star is a regular destination anytime we visit. Obviously Dallas Cowboy branding is everywhere. Cool area, tons of good restaurants/watering holes. Usually MT hosts a welcome reception at one of the restaurants. At the entrance to the Ford Center (where the games are played) is a scaled down version of a football field with a massively big screen tv. Can’t tell you how many times I have thrown the football around with my grandson.
Inside the Ford Center they set up two courts, with a big curtain separating the courts. We never thought it distracting to have 2 games going on simultaneously, but have heard others complain.
Since we have family who live 20-25 minutes away I can’t speak to availability/cost of hotel rooms. As you might expect, the crowds at The Star paled in comparison to what B’ham drew. With N Texas and UTEP having good teams would expect crowds this year to be much improved.
If you go, try and carve out time to tour the Cowboys new stadium (well worth the $30+ cost) and the downtown book depository where JFK was assassinated. Can easily spend 2 hours there.

Almost pulled the trigger on a nice 4 /5 day trip but prices too high. Oh well. Maybe some other time. I think we are going to make some noise this year.

I think the area around The arena was nice. The arena for basketball is a joke. I felt like it was a an Intramural basketball tournament when I went.

I really hope that the conference tournament moves eastward a bit. Getting to Frisco before the global events started was somewhat palatable. Fights were under 150. Getting home on a flight was always a bit more but driving 11 hours for a sporting event is a bit much if you want to try to bypass airfare.

I believe the contract is up after this tournament. It needs to come east for a bit. I don't mind splitting it between divisions every so often. Last year, north texas was the only westward school to win the thing since starting CUSA and they are leaving.

With 4 teams west of the Mississippi and 5 east, it seems like a central location makes sense. New Orleans or Memphis makes sense. Or make it an easy flight, like to Atlanta.

Put in a destination spot of Biloxi(casinos), Pensacola, Shreveport(casinos)

I’m in favor of having the number one in the east host until the final and same for the west. Highest remaining seeds host the final on campus.

I'm also for giving the higher seeds a better advantage since they earned it by successfully performing in the regular season.

You had me until Shreveport. That is the worst city in the country.

The problem with those places, to me, is the lack of direct flights. But I like the idea of somewhere different.
