BASKETBALL Fred Allen

So I was sitting on the sofa just now and a cancer treament center ad came on the television, and I heard Fred Allen announce who he was and his battle with cancer, and before he said he was from Arkansas, I looked up and thought to myself, holy cow, that's Fred Allen. Before Giddy, before Raymond Cintron, Robert Taylor, etc. and long before there was a three point shot, there was Fred Allen on MT's first ever conference championship team in 1975.

I am glad to know he is a survivor, especially when it seems there are far too many of my contemporaries finding their way to the obituary page...

Glad to see that he is doing well though not cured, although I have to say I'm not a fan of CTCA.

As for Allen at MT, many good but fading memories.
