You know....our boys got a heck of a wake up call last Saturday. Good teams are going to come out early and punch them in the mouth. Our boys will be ready this time. I think Auburn is going to be the sleeper in the SEC West this year.

Shocker he has USC and Miami in the finals and as the best matchup. USC is not that good. I think we beat them if we get the chance. Would not be surprised if they lose to Akron

Maybe Princeton is THAT good...

Myles Stephens nets career-high 30 points as Princeton beats USC in OT

excerpt:

...Stephens went for a career-high 30 points and Princeton shocked Southern California, 103-93 in overtime, on Tuesday night at the Galen Center.

The Tigers (5-6) have won three in a row and are 2-0 on this five-game west coast road trip which continues on Friday against Middle Tennessee State in the Diamond Head Classic.

Princeton beat a Pac-12 opponent for the first times since its famous 43-41 NCAA Tournament upset over UCLA in 1996.....

excerpt:

...The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders and the Princeton Tigers will be matching up in college basketball activity on Friday at Stan Sheriff Center.

Middle Tennessee is sitting at 7-2 on the season so far. The Raiders had a five-game winning streak going, but lost their last game versus Auburn. In that one, Middle Tennessee guard Giddy Potts led the team on 19 points.

Nick King is the top Raiders scorer this year with 22.9 PPG and 6.7 RPG, and Brandon Walters is second with 12.6 PPG and 5.1 RPG. Also in double-figures for Middle Tennessee this year is Potts, with 12.3 PPG and 4.0 RPG to his credit.

Over on the Princeton side, they’re sitting at 5-6 on the season. The Tigers have won their last three outings, beating Monmouth, Cal Poly and USC. In that Trojans game, Princeton’s Myles Stephens led the way on 30 points.

Devin Cannady is the leader on the Princeton stat sheet this year with 18.8 PPG and 3.9 RPG. Also in double-figures for the Tigers is Stephens, with 16.0 PPG and 5.9 RPG, and Amir Bell is close on 9.9 PPG, 5.6 RPG and 4.4 APG.

The Blue Raiders are 4-0 ATS in their last four Friday games and 11-4 ATS in their last 15 neutral-site games. Middle Tennessee is also 11-4 ATS in their last 15 non-conference games and 35-17 ATS in their last 52 games overall.

Meanwhile, the Tigers are 3-0-1 ATS in their last four games following an ATS win and 9-1-1 ATS in their last 11 games following a straight-up win. Princeton is also 7-1 ATS in their last eight versus Conference USA and 37-16 ATS in their last 53 Friday games......

We need to defend the 3...I would rather see us over play the 3 and give up some back door layups than let them get hot from the outside.

It is time for our guards to out score another teams guards.

Princeton generally plays man to man defense. If they stick with that against us, that should play to our advantage.

For us on defense, it just comes down to harassing the 3-point line. They get almost 44% if their points on 3-pointers. They don’t really go after offensive rebounds and they don’t draw a lot of fouls. If we don’t give them undue help by fouling them or having blown defensive assignments, the game on paper tends to favor us.

Usually when I say that we lose, so prepare for the worst :)

Tied at 54 with about 3 mins to play. We couldn’t throw a rock in the ocean. Should be up by 10.

Hopefully we can close them out
