...The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders and UAB Blazers meet Wednesday in the college basketball C-USA Tournament at the Ford Center at The Star.

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders enter this tournament splitting their last eight games. The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders are averaging 65.1 points on 40.9 percent shooting and allowing 72.6 points on 43.6 percent shooting. Antonio Green is averaging 18.3 points and four rebounds while Reggie Scurry is averaging 11.6 points and 6.1 rebounds. Donovan Sims is the third double-digit scorer and Karl Gamble is grabbing 6.1 rebounds. The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders are shooting 32.2 percent from beyond the arc and 67.1 percent from the free throw line. The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders are allowing 34.1 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 34.6 rebounds per game. The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders have lost five of their last seven non-home games.

The UAB Blazers enter this tournament splitting their last eight games. The UAB Blazers are averaging 69.9 points on 44.8 percent shooting and allowing 68.1 points on 41.7 percent shooting. Zack Bryant is averaging 14.3 points and 3.4 rebounds while Lewis Sullivan is averaging 11.9 points and 1.1 assists. Jalen Perry is the third double-digit scorer and Tavin Lovan is grabbing four rebounds. The UAB Blazers are shooting 32.4 percent from beyond the arc and 66.9 percent from the free throw line. The UAB Blazers are allowing 33.6 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 33.6 rebounds per game. The UAB Blazers have won five of their last seven non-home games.

The Blue Raiders are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 neutral site games, 8-2 ATS in their last 10 vs. Conference USA and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Blazers are 4-17 ATS in their last 21 Wednesday games, 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win and 16-37 ATS in their last 53 neutral site games. The Blue Raiders are 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings and the underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The over is 4-0 in Blazers last 4 Wednesday games. The under is 6-2 in Blue Raiders last 8 overall.

The Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders won both meetings this season by a combined seven points and have beaten UAB overall in each of the last six meetings. The Blue Raiders also enter this game playing very well defensively, allowing just 38.4 percent shooting in their last five games while winning those games by an average of five points. Middle Tennessee has also been a covering machine lately, which includes covers in eight of its last 10 conference games. The UAB Blazers may be the better team overall, despite the results against the Blue Raiders, but this is an inconsistent team that has found bizarre ways to lose this season....

Our road to march madness starts here. 4 W's in 4 days. Stranger things have happened. Let's get hot, play lock down unpredictable defense, and WIN THE WHOLE FVCKING THING.

Our guys need to be at their best, shooting, rebounding, and defense. Hope Sims is ready and can be at his best. He was the big difference in the two wins over UAB.

We should have played a lot less man to man defense. Our zone did alright against them.

Mildly disappointing. Was hoping MT could pull a surprise and get a win or two in the conf tourney.

Green tries to force it, in my opinion. For most of the season, I suspect the coaches needed him to try to score as much and anyway possible since the team was starting from scratch with barely half a roster. In the last part of the season as the team learned to play together and in the system, Green trying to force it seemed to be more of a hindrance in too many games.

Hopefully for his Senior campaign Green will develop some patience and let the game come to him, to borrow coachspeak.
