Big 12 commissioner: Bowls could go dark without enough 6-6 teams

I like the idea of top APRs of 5-7 teams going if 5-7 teams have to be used as it appears is the case. It seems the Big 12 commish just wants his guys in or no bowls. If bowls are a reward to student-athletes, it seems some sort of academic measure such as the APR ought to reward teams who perform well in the classroom to offset the sub .500 season.
