The thrill is and has been gone. McPhee has collapsed this program.

He kept Stock way past time and he hired our current guy. When I get photos from my son being at a Nashville university game (not MT) with friends and him not wanting to go to MT (Raised him True Blue and current MT student) there are problems to me. And he isn't wrong.
Vandy has had probably their biggest win ever and are sitting at 5-2 on the season. Meanwhile we’re enduring probably our worst season in history. It’s not hard to see why young people would choose not to go right now. G5s have to win to make the games fun and entertaining. We just haven’t won big in a long time.

FOOTBALL Middle Tennessee (2-5, 1-2) @ Jacksonville State (3-3, 2-0) (ESPN2), 6:30, Wednesday, October 23, 2024

I have them winning by around 30.

JSU never lets off the gas. Ever. They will score 200 points if given the opportunity. And our defense is historically bad. Worst I've seen since I started following in 2005.

People are about to see just how bad Brian Stewart is. We are going to sit in base packages all day and they are gonna run wild on us.

FOOTBALL More changes to college sports

Capitalism under the guise of a cartel.

Underrated comment.

This is precisely what the current situation represents. You've got two conferences and the leadership of those conferences trying to engineer the landscape in a way that eradicates competition outside of the "Big Two." They're no different than gangs killing each other over a turf battle. They will stop at nothing until all the money flows to them, then they'll probably turn on each other and start cannibalizing. Gotta have infinite growth and all that you know?

Whatever happens to the rest of the sport isn't even a thought of a thought to them. For a school like MT we can close up shop and vanish, continue being a glorified JUCO and developing talent for them, or whatever. We are less than nothing in the big picture to them.

I can't wait to see their ideas for the NCAA tournament
