I've been following this young man's career since his days at UT-C and of course when we played his VCU teams H & H a few years back.
With his choir boy image and business man's looks he could have fooled me. I guess it's becoming clear as to just how he has has such a meteoric rise from student manager at FRA to HC of a top 10 team built, as they say, for a deep NCAA run.
Gonna be interesting to see how he moves forward since it seems obvious he has coached his last game at LSU. He should use Davis' path as a model if he hopes to stay in coaching.

It struck me in his written statement that he seemed to be speaking about his tenure at LSU in the past tense. Wade has always seemed like a bit of a wolf in sheep’s clothing to me.

I don't think you recover and lead another NCAA team again. I think everyone is redeemable but in today's PC world we won't see him again in college BB.

I don’t think so. Pitino will probably be back in the states soon. Also, Quinn Schneider had a fall, and rise back up. There are others who have hidden in assistant jobs, or managed to clean up their image (think Chris Jans). It is not impossible.

Starting to hate college sports in general. Families of the athletes are just as liable as the coaches.

You know that these offers are conditional to the family or their “agent’s” desires.

My guess is that he won't be out of coaching all that long, unless he just wants to move on. The trend seems to be moving towards more tolerance for cheating because "everyone else is doing it." In one of those criminal cases of corruption in NCAA bball, the judge went fairly easy on the guilty with much talk of the wider systemic problem.

Bruce Pearl, anyone? Wasn't one of his assts at Auburn that caught up in the FBI investigation of NCAA corruption? Pearl seems to be unaffected by these controversies.

Kermit took longer to reestablish himself in coaching because it seems he cleaned up his act. He seems to have taken the time to improve and develop through hard work without cutting corners. Looking at MT's recruiting classes over the years under Kermit, I don't think anyone was accusing him of cheating in signing his recruits.

All of this talk does make me wonder about the recruiting habits up at WKU these days.
