Secondary led by safety duo

We are going to use the TE this year baby. I can taste it!

DAY SIX OBSERVATIONSFollowing the sixth day of fall practice, here are a few observations that stood out as camp continues to move towards Game Week on Aug. 31.

Tight ends standing out
At times, the tight end group seems to literally stand out. The size of this group is gigantic, highlighted by the duo of 6-foot-7 freshman Sean Smith and 6-foot-5 junior Terry Pettis. Smith had another great day, most notably with his pass catching. Pettis had a couple of great catches also, capped off by a great catch on the right sideline during 11-on-11. Tyler Barron showed off his hands also, making some tough catches during 1-on-1 drills.

6'5 and 6'7 these guys need to be used in middle of the field and definitely in the red zone. They are match-up problems. It was either last year or the year before tight ends from opposing teams gave us fits in the middle of the field

I really think Xavier Walker will have a chance in the pros too. He has crazy size and if he can gain a few more lbs by the draft, I could really see him getting drafted.

Our secondary as a whole will be light years better than last year.

Just about every practice report from Amado or from GBR mentions Cutrer in a positive light.

I'm starting to think we may have hit the jackpot with this guy. Walker, Byard, Cutrer, and Singletary could be one heck of a defensive backfield - we'll need it in a division with teams that like to air it out like WKU and Marshall.

I just started following Grott on twitter. If you don't yet, you guys need to. He has a ton of stuff on there.

Apparently Cutrer made an unbelievable play today in the scrimmage. Everyday it sounds like he's better than the previous one.

Between Amado and Grott we are getting a ton of info on the team. Sept 5 cant get here fast enough
