Never know with JC kids but this guy’s stats are pretty eye popping. 6’8, second on the team in points, first in rebounds, assists (by ALOT), blocks, and FG%.
Saw a sight listing him as guard/forward at his JC. Definitely NOT a 3 point guy. Approx 19% from deep, but 52% from the field overall. Strictly an inside player.
This team is shaping up to have similar if not more length than our last 2 teams.
Looking up stats from his JC roster position. The eye popper was Jackson's rebounding last year. In 26 games he had 290 total rebounds for a whopping 11 rebound per game average. Had to be one of the highest rebounding stats in Junior College last year. Also averaged close to 14 points/game shooting at 52% from mostly inside the arc. Just the rebounding numbers alone are worth the scholarship.
Liking the way next year's roster is developing, & still have a few more scholarships available.
He looks to thin to me to be a solid post player. We will struggle again when we play teams like UAB and NT that have strong solid post players. These lanky guys aren't going to cut it.
Just a reminder, UAB, NT, and others are going to the AAC next year. Not that it would make it okay if he is thin.
I am very intrigued with him as a player, what we should expect his role to be, etc... Going to watch some film from last season in the coming days and will share any takeaways here.
