New CUSA Commish Q&A

She said absolutely nothing in that article. I've been underwhelmed by what I've seen/read about her so far.

I have never had any expectation of any commissioner exciting me. As long as they don't screw us like Benson I am good.

Boosting confidence in the conference with leadership would be a good start. I would like to know a little more about any developments on media contracts. I know some info likely has to be limited for business negotiation purposes. I'd be interested in some of the conference's goals.

One that stands out to me is the ever rapidly growing digital content. C-USA has the digital network, but it seems like the conference and former contract is woefully lacking in keeping up with the changes. Networks are developing widespread plans. Many conferences are getting onboard in unifying coverage. C-USA has a digital network through CBS Sports, a number of universities including MTSU aren't even on a CBS Sports platform. So if you buy the conf digital platform, a number of games aren't available. To top it all off, CBS seems to now offer a digital service for most of their sports, but C-USA is not included. You have to pay more and separate for C-USA. Hopefully C-USA can get good TV coverage and good widespread digital access on a widely available platform. Better integration with CBS Sports, or another whole outfit. I'm not sure Fox Sports is ready to play in that field. ESPN seems to be out front with the ESPN3 and/or WatchESPN Digital platform. For conferences like the OVC which may not get a whole lot of TV games, except Murray St & Belmont, easy and wide access seems available on ESPN3. It'd be nice to see digital content uniform even for a reasonable monthly charge to be able to watch all conference games. It would be nice to be able to watch away MTSU games in conference. Watching a whole mess of C-USA games throughout the sport season on a good quality digital network would be worth $7-10 a month to me. It'd be nice if C-USA would be in on the same standard with some of the other major conferences to wide access.
