MTSU - Hamas Israel Palestine

A good, but sad commentary on the brain washing of America & its youth. How is it done? Very smartly. Catch them when they're young, & feed extreme political philosophy by indoctrination via secondary school teachers, college professors, entertainment & media. Teach Americans weak of mind that the only terrorists to be concerned about are domestic in nature, & not that those of international in origin are a threat. It is men & women moderate & conservative in thought who question why can't they be included in what their children are being taught are those to be disavowed. These are the people to be feared & hated are today's teachings. These are the people now being labeled as Nazi's. Nazi's who close to 90 years ago hated the Jewish faith, & worked towards the eradication of an entire people.
Now a new group of Americans who call those they hate Nazi lovers are the ones condoning & embracing what the actual Nazi movement in Europe did in the 1930's & 1940's. They march & protest by the thousands at universities throughout the nation embracing true terrorists whom on October 7th murdered babies, women, & men by the score in Israel.
It's not MAGA Republicans marching for the elimination of an entire people in our streets & universities, it's not moderate Republicans who dislike Trump, it's not even moderate democrats. It is extreme left wing Marxist who have now infiltrated the democratic party, & are successfully leading America towards a stronger & more dangerous socialist philosophy. Even a 90's moderate Democrat such as Bill Clinton would now be labeled as a threat & danger to the new Democratic Party. As America slowly changes from a free capitalist society towards that of a socialist state the freedoms we once enjoyed are fading away into obscurity. As an older American I fear for our once great country, & today's youth which are blindly following today's extremist pied pipers until it's too late for recovery.
My one hope for those my age or older is that while still alive we can continue to call this the United States of America. I fear it's only a matter of time before we the older generation dies out & today's youth becomes the next generational leaders. And thusly a new name will take over for our country. The United Socialist Party of America, & that will be all she wrote.

It doesn’t make me happy that Rivals is presenting me with this when I just wanted to like your reply. As a developer, maybe it’s time to offer a competing platform.

I don't like the fact that the original piece in the sidelines was removed. Colleges should be a marketplace of free thought.

The original piece was written in response to the attacks out of concern for his friend. The college professor who advises the student editorial board should be in question as well as the leaders of the university.

If they wanted an opposing view, they should have had a writer write something and leave the previous piece alone.

This doesn't bode well at all for this alum for my university. I want nothing to do with a place that handles themselves this way.

Based on this having more information, here is what happened:
  • Piece was written on October 27, 2023.
  • After some time, it was published to the Sidelines instagram account where it started gaining more attention (unprecedented feedback) and the writer Giffen (which happened to be the editor was close to or getting doxed). It looks like there were pro-palestinian replies that made Giffen pull the piece due to, in his words, "folding to antisemitism"
  • Alligood, oversite professor, asked Giffen if he would like to have the article removed. Giffen and other newspaper students said yes.
  • MTSU Sidelines released the statement after Giffen's piece was removed"
  • “Sidelines condemns any actions that cause harm in response to an expressed opinion,” the statement said. “In a divided world, there must be room for civil discourse. People should feel free to express their opinions without fear of harm. In retrospect, Sidelines failed to report on the casualties the Palestinian people have suffered and focused only on damage done to the Israeli population.”
  • Giffen's response before resigning was:
  • how do we know how many are is acting as a terrorist organization? ... How do we know if their casualty numbers are correct?'”
  • Giffen also expressed concern for the wording of "failed"
It's a complicated situation. But one that needs scrutiny on both sides. I think there are lessons to be learned by this but I am puzzled by the response to the Sidelines article being a failed piece. But that's just me. Just report or write an opposing side but continue with fact base reporting.
