...The Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles will travel to the Murphy Athletic Center to take on the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders this Saturday night in College Basketball action.

The Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles had their 2-game winning streak snapped and dropped to 9-9 (2-3 C-USA) on the season after being defeated by the UAB Blazers, 86-75, this past Thursday. Southern Mississippi had no answers on the defensive end against the UAB offense and couldn’t fight back after trailing by a 46-27 margin at halftime. Southern Mississippi allowed UAB to shoot 61.5% from the field and 47.1% (8-17) from beyond the arc in the loss. Leading the way for the Golden Eagles was Tyree Griffin who had 23 points, 7 assists, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals. On the season, Southern Mississippi is averaging 73.1 ppg on 45.4% shooting from the field. The Golden Eagles are averaging 7.4 three-pointers per game on 33.9% shooting from beyond the arc. Leading the way for the Blue Raiders was Nick King who had a double-double with 22 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, and a steal. On the season, Middle Tennessee is averaging 74.6 ppg on 45.7% shooting from the field. The Blue Raiders are averaging 6.3 three-pointers per game on 34.5% shooting from beyond the arc.
